Call of Duty has all but confirmed a new collaboration with Amazon's popular superhero series The Boys. The new trailer for Season 4 of Call of Duty debuted at Summer Game Fest which showcased Warzone 2's vibrant new battle royale map Vondel.

Over the years since 2019's Modern Warfare reboot, Call of Duty has become known to host collaborations with popular characters across the film world. Black Ops Cold War saw classic horror icons such as Ghostface, Jigsaw, and Leatherface, as well as 80s action heroes like Rambo and John McClane join its roster of operators. More recently, figures like King Kong, Godzilla, and the Terminator have been added to Call of Duty: Vanguard, with Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles joining Modern Warfare 2 as the latest major collab.

Underneath Call of Duty's Twitter post of the Season 4 trailer featuring Warzone 2's new Vondel map, The Boys posted an image pointing out a building in the trailer that had the show's logo spray-painted onto it, accompanied by a Homelander meme. This prompted Call of Duty to fire back with a Captain Price meme from 2019's Modern Warfare, hinting that a collaboration between the two is extremely likely.

It's tough to say for sure what exactly this collaboration would entail. It's likely that, like the other film collabs, a character or two from The Boys would be added to the roster of operators. As for who, the best bet would probably be the face of the series, Homelander. This isn't the first game Homelander is in talks of joining, as the anti-hero was included in a recent Kombat Pack leak for the imminent Mortal Kombat 1 alongside other anti-hero characters such as DC's Peacemaker and Omni Man from Amazon's other hugely popular superhero series, Invincible. It would also make sense for other The Boys characters like Billy Butcher or Soldier Boy to be part of this Call of Duty collaboration as well.

With Season 4 of The Boys supposedly aiming for later this year or early 2024, it's fitting that the refreshingly popular non-Marvel superhero franchise is making its way into the gaming world with Call of Duty and also allegedly Mortal Kombat 1. There wasn't any more information provided about when The Boys will join Call of Duty, so fans of the series will most likely have to wait until later in Call of Duty Season 4, which begins on June 14, to learn more.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
