Officials from Microsoft have assured fans that the Call of Duty games that come to Nintendo Switch will run with a high degree of technical performance and they should not be worried about poor visuals or frame rates due to the console's hardware limitations. Nintendo Switch players are sure to be excited to be able to play Call of Duty games on their handheld consoles on the go without any major issues.

"Impossible Ports" are games that are brought over to a previous generation console or to a system with more limited hardware in terms of graphical processing. For example, many fans dub The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch an "Impossible Port" because the game runs well on the system, despite the Switch's less powerful graphics processor. In the same vein, the Call of Duty games are quite demanding of GPUs, which means that the developers will have to work some sort of technical magic in order for the games to run well on Nintendo Switch.

Brad Smith, the president of Microsoft, answered some questions relating to the performance of Call of Duty games on Nintendo Switch, saying that the games will run as people expect — to a high technical standard. Microsoft has entered into a 10-year agreement with Nintendo to bring the Call of Duty games to the console, and Switch players are wondering if this means that the games will be dialed down quite a bit in order to run on the Switch or if Nintendo is planning on releasing a next-gen console soon. With the rumor of Call of Duty 2024 coming to previous gen consoles, though, it seems like it might be the former rather than the latter.

There is a lot of movement going on in the corporate world surrounding Call of Duty, of course. Activision's Call of Duty deal with Sony is coming to an end, which has many ramifications due to the success that the Call of Duty franchise has had on PlayStation consoles. Also, Microsoft is still pushing to buy Activision Blizzard for a whopping $68.7 billion, which would be the biggest gaming deal in history.

As Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 jump into their second seasons of multiplayer, more and more players are getting their hands on these games. The Call of Duty fanbase continues to grow, and once the franchise comes to the Nintendo Switch, it will increase in size exponentially.
