Over the last few months, there have been some very unexpected leaks about the post-launch content coming in the Vanguard era of Call of Duty: Warzone - though the latest rumor around Snoop Dogg’s appearance in the game might seem like the weirdest yet. However, with Attack on Titan content already coming to Call of Duty: Warzone, and a Captain America bundle rumored to release sometime in the future, strange crossovers have already happened.

Aside from other random bundles being seen, there is a major reason to believe the rumor about Snoop Dogg appearing in Call of Duty: Warzone. While many may have forgotten that it happened, Snoop Dogg has already played a major role in a Call of Duty game before. As such, it would not be too surprising if the rapper made a return, lending his voice and unique personality to the franchise once again.

Why Snoop Dogg Coming to Call of Duty: Warzone Would Not Be Surprising

While 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts remains divisive, the game did do some interesting things with its DLC lineup. Alongside proper expansions that added new multiplayer maps and Extinction experiences to Call of Duty: Ghosts, the FPS featured some Personalization Packs and Voice Packs. While Personalization Packs allowed players to control iconic Modern Warfare characters like Makarov and Soap, Voice Packs changed the game’s announcer.

There were two different Voice Packs that Call of Duty fans could purchase, and each came with an entirely different batch of dialogue for the announcer. One of these DLCs was called the Drill Instructor Voice Pack, which featured the voice of The Gunny from Full Metal Jacket. While this was a bit weird, the entertaining DLC fit the game’s military theme. However, Infinity Ward leaned into the silliness with its other $3 Voice Pack, as none other than Snoop Dogg became the announcer.

This unique DLC featured dozens of hilarious lines. When getting the Trinity Rocket killstreak, Snoop would say “Trinity Rocket in your back pocket.” After deploying a Sat-Com, the game’s equivalent of a UAV, Snoop would say “Sat-Com in the heezy!” While Snoop had some normal lines, most of them rhymed, used profanity, or featured some of his unique mannerisms. As a result, the DLC was a ton of fun for fans of the rapper, and it established a partnership between Snoop and Activision.

That working relationship could be the reason Snoop returns to Call of Duty nearly a decade later. An Operator bundle for Snoop Dogg could see him uttering plenty of funny lines like he did in his Call of Duty: Ghosts Voice Pack. A few different skins could be included for him, like one based off his heavily memed Super Bowl outfit. With Call of Duty releasing several weed-themed bundles and cosmetics overt the years, Snoop’s bundle would surely include some leaf-covered weaponry as well. Calling Cards and emblems featuring the rapper’s likeness are also a possibility.

While the rumor of a Snoop Dogg Operator bundle may have initially seemed odd, the fact that he has appeared in a previous Call of Duty game helps make sense of the addition. With the inclusion of content from Donnie Darko, Attack on Titan, and other properties one would not normally associate with Call of Duty, Activision has already opened the door to absurd cameos. Though it remains to be seen if the Snoop Dogg Operator leak is legitimate, it would certainly fit with the pattern the series has established.
