Fans are getting a closer look at Call of Duty’s upcoming Season 2 Reloaded DLC for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, featuring a new Himmelmatt Expo map and Shredder operator among other new features. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's second DLC Season launched last month and added new content like a new Ashika Island Battle Royale map and the Multiplayer Ranked Play.
A second update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Season 2 was just teased yesterday, and gave players a glimpse at the long-running FPS franchise’s latest crossover. Past Call of Duty games have seen special guest appearances from Die Hard’s John McClain or Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but few expected the villainous Shredder of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame to show up in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as an operator. Nonetheless, yesterday’s Season 2 teaser hinted exactly this as a mysterious warrior appeared onscreen alongside a familiar-looking green canister.
The official Call of Duty website has now confirmed that TMNT’s Shredder is coming to Modern Warfare 2 as part of the upcoming Season 2 Reloaded DLC. He will be included as an operator skin in a new Tracer Pack Operator Bundle, and players will be able to unlock his devastating ninjitsu powers. In addition to the Shredder, Call of Duty Season 2 will add a new Raid Episode centered around a hunt for a powerful warhead across Atomgrad and a new Himmelmatt Expo map for 6v6 multiplayer matches. Players will also be able to wield the new Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle.
Season 2 Reloaded is also celebrating the third anniversary of Call of Duty: Warzone by releasing free gifts at the in-game Store every few days. There will also be new Bundles available at the Store, such as one that provides new Shamrock and Awe bonuses in a limited-time event in Al Mazrah. Lastly, players will be able to take on new Path of the Ronin challenges that reward a new camo skin for every weapon class.
Although the Shredder operator skin was basically revealed to fans earlier this week, Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded looks to add a host of new content to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Players will be able to dine on turtle soup as the Shredder or wage war at the mountaintop Himmelmatt Expo when Season 2 Reloaded launches on March 15.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
