Call of Duty just revealed all the new game modes, maps, and events coming in Season 1 of Modern Warfare: 3 and Warzone. The update from the Call of Duty team details everything players can expect both in-season and when the content initially launches on December 6.

While the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign disappointed players thanks in part to its brief, five-hour runtime, developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision look to double down on what is working for the game – its online multiplayer. Poor reviews haven't stopped Modern Warfare 3 from breaking player records and selling well, largely because the multiplayer aspects have been enjoyable for players. Now, the Call of Duty team is giving fans of the online multiplayer even more reason to be excited, thanks to the upcoming season.

Many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players are convinced that AI bots are quietly being placed into online matches by the developer.

The Call of Duty staff has published a lengthy blog post, detailing everything players can expect from Season 1 of Modern War 3 and Warzone. Modern Warfare 3 is introducing four new multiplayer maps, several new game modes, and end-game content for zombies among many other updates. Warzone is getting a new map, a new Gulag, and a new CODMAS event. Additionally, players will get access to the Season 1 Battle Pass, new weapons and store offerings, seasonal progression, and plenty more across both titles – all of which is part of a free content update that launches December 6.

In addition to all the new content being added, the devs are also patching in movement and gameplay updates. Not to mention, players can look forward to new environmental elements like a drivable train and ziplines. Players will have to wait another week to get their hands on all this content, but until then, fans can enjoy the return of Shipment, which was announced alongside a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 stat proving the game is successful.

One of the biggest additions to the games is the various new maps. Modern Warfare 3 players can enjoy three new 6v6 maps (one of which comes later in-season) and a new 2v2 map. Not to mention, Urzikstan is coming to Warzone.

Modern Warfare 3 has had an up-and-down launch, but the Season 1 update looks genuinely exciting for those who enjoy the game's online multiplayer. Even with a strong start for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sales, the teams behind CoD look to add even more value to the game in the coming months.
