Highlights

  • Season 4 of MW3 brings the new DNA Bomb killstreak, which creates a massive explosion eliminating all opposing players.
  • Along with the DNA Bomb, players can also earn other new killstreaks like I.M.S., Loitering Munition, and Missile Drone.
  • The Mission Control Vest and Compression Plate Perk are new gear added in Season 4 to make earning killstreaks easier and buff health regeneration.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Season 4 content has just been revealed, and one of the most exciting additions is the new DNA Bomb killstreak that sounds similar to the MGB but comes with some slight downgrades. The killstreak is slated to be released on May 29 when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Season 4 update goes live.

There are plenty of other new features coming to MW3 on May 29, including new maps, modes, and equipment. MW3's new Season 4 maps include Paris and Tokyo at launch, followed by Incline and Das Gross in a mid-season update. As for new modes, MW3 will add Demolition and Hyper Cranked at Season 4's launch, followed by Havoc and Headshots Only later on. But Sledgehammer Games has a lot more planned for Season 4 beyond the usual categories of maps and modes.

Season 4's new DNA Bomb creates a "tremendous explosion" that eliminates all opposing players but does not end a match like the MGB does. Sledgehammer has not yet confirmed how many consecutive eliminations it takes to earn a DNA Bomb, but it seems likely that the streak will be a tier below the game-ending MGB that requires 30 eliminations. Sledgehammer has not fully revealed what the new streak looks like in-game but did share a screenshot that shows a green explosion in the sky, so it seems the DNA Bomb could have a more sci-fi feel than the MGB. The DNA Bomb will be joined by other new killstreaks in Season 4.

MW3 Gets Four New Killstreaks in Season 4

  • I.M.S. (seven kills)
  • Loitering Munition (8 kills)
  • Missile Drone (11 kills)
  • DNA Bomb (unknown)

Season 4 adds to Modern Warfare 3's killstreaks by also introducing the I.M.S. (seven kills), Loitering Munition (8 kills), and Missile Drone (11 kills). The I.M.S. appears to be a Cluster Mine-like option that utilizes smart bombs, the Loitering Munition is an unmanned drone that fires rockets, and the Missile Drone is a controllable craft that fires guided missiles.

Season 4 also adds to Modern Warfare 3's Vests by implementing the Mission Control Vest, which makes killstreaks easier to earn. This could be a great Vest for those looking to earn MW3's new killstreaks come May 29. The final new piece of gear coming with Season 4's launch is the Compression Plate Perk, which buffs health regeneration.

Thanks to Season 4, MW3's Zombies mode will finally receive new content, although it won't be available at launch. Following a mid-season update, Zombies players will be able to enter "Unstable Rifts," which are challenging areas that give valuable rewards.
