With a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare being just a few months away, some players have been going back to the 2019 game. Recently, one Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fan shared a memorable clip from their play session that saw them go from being AFK to clutching a round entirely on their own.

The clip in question took place during a Search and Destroy match, one of Call of Duty’s most popular game modes. As many know, each player only has one life per round, so Search and Destroy is a slow-paced and tactical experience that rewards gun skill. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s low time-to-kill not only means that reaction time is key, but also ensures that it is harder to take down multiple enemies alone.

Reddit user and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player Joshanima did just that, though, essentially winning a round all by themselves. Only one of the enemies was dead prior to their rampage, and if that was not enough, the Redditor came back from being entirely AFK. At the start of their footage, their last few teammates are killed, leaving them in a 5v1 situation. With only one of the enemy players dying during the rest of the round, it can be assumed that the other team is fairly skilled, making Joshanima’s clutch even more impressive.

The first kill sees the Redditor waiting in a corner for an enemy to walk past, and after they do, they are quick to gun them down with their MP5. They then head into a building and quickscope an enemy with a Sniper Rifle, showcasing some stellar accuracy. They then head to the top of the building to get a good angle on the next enemy, as they know they will rush to avenge their teammate. Sure enough, they head upstairs and are gunned down, with the 5v1 quickly becoming a 2-on-1 scenario.

Soon after the staircase kill, Joshanima gets a kill with their land mine, leading them into a 1v1 battle. An intense fight takes place after the bomb is planted, with both the Redditor and their opponent landing shots and switching between cover. Despite being low on health, Joshanima defeats their enemy and defuses the bomb, winning the round all on their own. Unsurprisingly, this clip has performed well with Call of Duty fans, getting over 1,000 upvotes thus far.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer will offer a fresh lineup of maps and weapons for players to use, but fans can still expect to see clutches like this from time to time. While they are rare, they have become part of the DNA of Search and Destroy, and this video is a perfect example of what a good clutch looks like.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
