A strange Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bug changes how perks look in the Zombies mode's loadout menu, reverting the perks' appearances to those of past Call of Duty games. Perks appear in the form of a can while playing Zombies in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and each perk is designated with a can symbol while preparing a large rucksack and weapon loadout.

Modern Warfare 3's CODMAS event is live until January 3, 2024, with holiday-themed modes, exclusive rewards, and limited-time Santa's Slayground challenges. In addition, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies was updated with new seasonal enemy models, new infil music, and snowball piles. Snowballs may be used as a throwable item that deals damage and knocks down weaker enemies, but gun damage is still preferable for stronger enemies like Hellhounds and bosses. Thus far, CODMAS appears to be well received by the Call of Duty community, since the seasonal event offers enticing rewards for free to those who complete challenges.

Specifically, the bug displays the perk symbols from past games in the series, such as Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. Fortunately, the bug doesn't appear to affect actual gameplay in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, as it only affects the symbol displayed on the large rucksack section of the loadout menu.

Modern Warfare 3 Players Prefer the Bugged Zombies Perk Symbols

Many Modern Warfare 3 fans, including Reddit users ChronoMonkeyX and Novir64, prefer the bugged perk symbols over the perk cans in the menu. These perk symbols are much easier to recognize in the loadout menu since the perk cans are small with monochromatic designs. Others note that the larger perk symbols look clear and colorful on large displays, which provides a more accessible experience for Modern Warfare 3 players with certain eyesight conditions. As a result, the community appears to be rallying behind making the perk symbols permanent as one of the potential quality-of-life changes for Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.
