Activision has pulled the curtain back on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies mode, giving fans the rundown on what they can expect when the game goes live on November 10. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be the first game in the Modern Warfare sub-series to feature Zombies. Instead of a traditional round-based Zombies experience, though, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is going in a different direction.

While the vast majority of Call of Duty Zombies experiences have been round-based affairs, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is instead going to be open world. Modern Warfare 3 will be utilizing the new Warzone map and letting players team up with other squads online to survive the undead hordes, with extraction shooter elements sprinkled in. This sounds like a pretty big risk for Call of Duty Zombies, and it remains to be seen if it pays off.

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies video shows the different weapons that players can obtain from the game's Mystery Box.

But while Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is making some drastic changes to the formula, it's also retaining many elements that fans love from previous installments. To that end, Perk-a-Cola is back in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. Activision has confirmed that Deadshot Daiquiri, Death Perception, Elemental Pop, Jugger-Nog, PHD Flopper, Quick Revive, Speed Cola, Stamin-Up, and Tombstone Soda will all be featured in the MW3 Zombies mode. They all function as Zombies fans will expect.

Deadshot Daiquiri - ADS moves to enemy critical location. Removes scope sway
Death Perception - Obscured enemies, chests, resources, and item drops are more easily spotted
Elemental Pop - Every bullet you fire has a small chance to apply a random Ammo Mod effect
Jugger-Nog - Increases maximum health
PHD Flopper - Diving to prone triggers an explosion. The explosion increases the higher you fall. Immunity from fall damage while diving. Immunity from area-of-effect damage from weapons you are using
Quick Revive - Reduce the health regeneration delay time by 50%. Reduce the time it takes to revive an ally by 50%
Speed Cola - Drink to reload and replate armor faster
Stamin-Up - Increases run and sprint speed
Tombstone Soda - On death, you create a tombstone stash at that location, containing your backpack inventory in the next game

Activision also revealed some of the Ammo Mods that will be available in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, though stopped short of providing an explanation as to what they all do. However, the names make them all fairly self-explanatory. At launch, Modern Warfare 3 players can look forward to the Brain Rot, Cryo Freeze, Dead Wire, Napalm Burst, and Shatter Blast Ammo mods.

MW3 Zombies Wonder Weapons

Activision stopped short of providing a detailed explanation about the Wonder Weapons in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, but teased three of them with a set of six images. It seems one of them is called Blast-O-Matic, seemingly unrelated to the pre-existing weapon blueprint from Black Ops Cold War. It looks similar to the Ray Gun, but it remains to be seen exactly how it functions. Activision did say that getting the Wonder Weapons in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies requires players to find special Schematics and then craft the weapons. Call of Duty fans will have to jump into the game's open world Zombies experience at launch to learn more about the Wonder Weapons and what they bring to the table.
