Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will mark the return of the Zombies mode to the franchise after a brief hiatus, and will also bring back the popular Mystery Box feature, with new and returning weapons. This comes via a video that revealed the contents of the Mystery Box ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s November 10 release.

Since its introduction in 2008's Call of Duty: World at War, Zombies has become a staple game mode for the franchise. This year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will feature an open-world setting, where players can team up with other squads to defeat the undead. However, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will retain some classic Zombies features, one of them being the Mystery Box. This box is a random weapon generator that spawns at certain points on the map, giving players a chance to obtain some otherworldly weapons.

Activision is further sweetening the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-order pot by including an additional bonus in the form of a character skin.

Posted on the Charlie Intel Twitter account, the video shows the range of weapons that will be available to the players via the Mystery Box in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. While the names of the weapons were not displayed, players could easily spot popular weapons like the MTZ 556 and the FR 5.56 assault rifles, the UMP45 submachine gun, the SVCH 8.6 sniper-rifle, and a few others. Aside from this, the Mystery Box also features a crossbow, a sickle, and rocket launcher. Interestingly, two Wonder Weapons will also be available to players, including the popular Ray Gun.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will continue the Dark Aether storyline, with the returning villain Victor Zakhaev being the mastermind behind the outbreak. Interestingly, Zakhaev isn’t the only adversary making a comeback as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s main antagonist is Vladimir Makarov, one of the franchise’s most popular baddies.

While the Modern Warfare 3’s official launch is still a few days away, players who pre-ordered it got early access to the campaign. Unfortunately, many Call of Duty fans have expressed their disappointment with the Modern Warfare 3 campaign.
