Activision revealed a few dozen Weapon Camo sets and other cosmetic unlockables that are set to debut in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The latest Call of Duty game's single-player campaign is currently available in early access, while the official Modern Warfare 3 release is scheduled for November 10.

Originally announced in mid-August, the latest installment in the long-running FPS franchise is set to introduce an unprecedented level of integration with its immediate predecessor. Specifically, Activision plans to support MW2 COD points transfers to Modern Warfare 3, on top of allowing players to carry over most of their cosmetics from the previous game.

Players will be able to apply almost every base camo from MW2 to any weapon. This system for transferring MW2 cosmetics to Modern Warfare 3 has only four confirmed exceptions, all of which happen to be Completionist Camo sets from the previous game: Gold, Platinum, Polyatomic, and Orion. These will still be limited to whatever armaments the player unlocked them for in MW2. Playing weekly challenges will be one of the best ways to unlock new cosmetics in MW3, as completing all of them in a given season will award a variety of in-game items, which will sometimes include Weapon Camo sets.

The upcoming shooter will also debut a new set of Camo Challenges featuring both MW2 and MW3 weapons. A portion of those tasks will revolve around Zombies Camos, with Activision describing that subset of challenges as the "biggest Zombies Camo grind of all time." The basic idea behind this addition is to cater to the hardcore players who already claimed Multiplayer Weapon Mastery for each of the 77 weapons in the previous game and will consequently have slightly fewer things to do in Modern Warfare 3.

Overall, Modern Warfare 3 will feature 834 base camos at launch, 556 of which will be brand new, while the remaining 278 will carry forward from MW2. That figure does not include Special Base Camos, or those unlocked via ranked play and events. The fandom can also count on a consistent influx of other cosmetics, such as the Modern Warfare 3 Little Caesars operator skin that debuted at the start of the game's campaign early access promotion.
