Activision has revealed all the content coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Season 4 update, which at launch includes two new 6v6 maps, two modes, and more. The major update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to release on May 29.

Activision recently confirmed that one of Season 4's collaborations is with the Gundam franchise. This seems to be one of the main crossovers for the next season, but additional ones will likely occur. Call of Duty's Gundam collaboration consists of three bundles to be released later on, followed by a Gundam-themed event that will probably offer up more themed items to be unlocked. It seems that one of Season 4's new maps pays homage to the Gundam creators' native land.

Season 4's new 6v6 maps at launch are Tokyo and Paris, which are two medium-sized levels that aim to recreate the atmospheres of the legendary cities. Tokyo utilizes a nighttime setting that allows its neon-colored lights to fill the streets, while Paris uses a daytime setting that sunbathes iconic landmarks on its horizon, such as the Eiffel Tower. The new maps will be joined by the return of Demolition, which is a respawn-enabled Search and Destroy mode with a couple of adjustments. Also arriving is the game mode Hyper Cranked, which changes the standard version of the mode by making all players Cranked at the beginning of every life.

Modern Warfare 3 Getting Two New Maps and Two Modes On May 29

  • Tokyo and Paris 6v6 maps
  • Demolition and Hyper Cranked modes

Similar to the Season 3 Reloaded update, Call of Duty will receive additional maps and modes later in Season 4. These include Incline, which is another new 6v6 map, and Das Gross, which is a variant of Das Hous. New modes coming later in Season 4 include Havoc, which is a TDM mode with chaotic modifiers, and Headshots Only, which is another TDM mode that is pretty self-explanatory.

Season 4 also introduces new perks and equipment, building on a trend seen in Call of Duty's Season 3 update. At launch, Season 4 adds the Mission Control Vest that makes killstreaks easier to earn and the Compression Plate Perk that buffs health regeneration.

Season 4 might also shake up the rankings for MW3's best killstreaks, as four new streaks are set to be added on May 29. These include the I.M.S., which is a Cluster Mine-like bomb; the Loitering Munition, which is an unmanned drone that fires rockets; the Missile Drone, which is a piloted drone that fires guided missiles; and the DNA Bomb, which has powers similar to the MGB but doesn't end a match.
