Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is bringing back a classic mini-map feature that shows enemies as red dots after they fire their weapons. A previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 leak had already revealed this feature’s existence, which has been seemingly confirmed by Activision.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the next iteration in Activision’s rebooted Modern Warfare subseries, continuing the story of last year’s Modern Warfare 2. Activision recently released a trailer showcasing Makarov in Modern Warfare 3, which also included glimpses of gameplay. Additionally, Activision has also confirmed that the popular slide cancel feature is returning with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it has now confirmed another fan-favorite feature that is making a comeback.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will bring back the red-dot mini map feature. The 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare series made the decision to remove this feature from the game, a controversial decision that remained unchanged in last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as well. However, red dots are finally returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

In the meantime, fans have theorized that a new version of the controversial “No Russian” mission from the 2009 Modern Warfare 2 could make its way to 2023's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This comes via some imagery shown during the recent Makarov reveal trailer, which has also led the community to believe that he was being held in Verdansk from Warzone 1. Additionally, a post credit scene from the 2022 Modern Warfare 2 teased “No Russian” and showed a group of terrorists trying to hijack a plane, which fans have also connected to the events that occurred in Verdansk.

Modern Warfare 3 will also be different from the original MW3 considering General Shepherd is also alive along with Makarov. Phillip Graves, who supposedly died in Modern Warfare 2 also recently came back from the dead in Warzone Season 5, which means that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 could have three antagonists. Graves will also play a major role in the reveal event taking place in Call of Duty: Warzone on August 17, 2023, which will be a set-up for Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
