An impressive montage video highlighting some of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's maps has been created by a dedicated and talented fan on Reddit. Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3, which is just days away on December 6, will look to add two new 6v6 maps, Meat and Greece, to the game's already beloved map pool.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launched last month with 16 remade maps from 2009's fan-favorite Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Combined with improved movement and the carry forward system making last year's arsenal of weapons available to use, Modern Warfare 3 is considered by some fans to be the best Call of Duty multiplayer experience of the last several years. Classic maps like Favela, Terminal, Highrise, Skidrow, and more are pleasing longtime fans of the franchise. That's not to say every one of the 16 maps has been well-received. The more sniper-centric playgrounds like Wasteland and Derail have caught a lot of flak for being designed to encourage players to be more stationary, restricting use of the game's fluid movement.

Awesome OG MW2 Campaign Reference Discovered in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

A gamer online finds an interesting reference to the original Modern Warfare 2 campaign hidden within one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's maps.

One talented fan who's been enjoying Modern Warfare 3's remade maps has made a short edit showing off the beauty of some of the game's environments and sound design. Trenboloneboi posted the 50-second clip to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit. Set to a chill lo-fi beat, the video takes viewers on a trip through 10 of Modern Warfare 3's 16 launch maps, using clever editing tricks to transition smoothly between them. The video begins in Afghan before the player activates Dead Silence, cutting to Highrise where they parkour to the top of the map and end up on the rooftops of Favela. From there, Trenboloneboi takes the viewer to several more popular maps, including using a takedown animation to swiftly cut through four maps in just a few seconds, with each knife stab staying on-beat.

It's clear that Trenboloneboi had bumped up the color saturation of the edit, as the in-game colors aren't nearly as vibrant as they are in this video. That said, the clip still does a great job highlighting the beauty that can be found in some of Modern Warfare 3's maps. Trenboloneboi's focus on Sledgehammer's immaculate ambient sound design, like the smoky vents and distant sirens in Highrise, or seagulls in Favela, adds to the atmosphere of the game world and is nicely underlined by the lo-fi hip hop track.

With Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 around the corner on December 6, players will see the addition of the game's first original maps in Meat and Greece. Both seem to be offering wildly different environments; Meat a dark and grimy slaughterhouse, and Greece a pretty water canal. Hopefully, both these original maps will share the same design philosophy of Modern Warfare 3's remade maps, offering an immaculate layout with similar levels of environmental beauty.
