  • Players can get the JAK Wardens in MW3, an almost exact replica of MW2's infamous akimbo Model 1887 shotgun.
  • To unlock the JAK Wardens in MW3, complete 5 challenges from Week 5 and apply the kit to the Lockwood Mk2 marksman rifle.
  • A recent bug with the JAK Wardens has been fixed with a hotfix, ensuring smooth gameplay for Call of Duty fans.

Those who remember the mayhem of Modern Warfare 2's (2009) akimbo attachment for the Model 1887 shotgun can now relive that experience, thanks to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's recently added JAK Wardens conversion kit. The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 kit turns the Lockwood Mk2 marksman rifle into a spitting image of the infamous weapon.

Fans can thank MW3's Season 3 Reloaded update for the JAK Wardens. The major patch introduced plenty of other content to Sledgehammer's first-person shooter, including two new modes and two 6v6 maps. With about five months still to go in MW3's lifespan, the game is on track to be the most heavily supported title in terms of post-launch content during Call of Duty's Warzone era. MW3's post-launch support has also benefited from the new conversion kit feature, which lets Sledgehammer release new versions of already added weapons.

Why June 9 Will Be a Big Day for Call of Duty Fans

Any fans of the Call of Duty franchise, especially Black Ops, will make sure that they circle Sunday, June 9 on their calendars.

MW3's newest conversion kit, the JAK Wardens, can be unlocked by completing five weekly challenges from the Week 5 page. After doing so, the JAK Wardens kit can be applied to the Lockwood Mk2. This transforms the marksman rifle into an almost exact replica of the akimbo Model 1887s, complete with the same firing animation that sees the weapons flipped around with each shot. While the JAK Wardens are a strong choice for shotgun fans, the kit doesn't come close to the 1887s' broken nature in the original MW2, fortunately. Those who played that game during its first few months will likely remember the akimbo shotguns that could eliminate enemies from almost halfway across a map in one salvo. Thankfully, Call of Duty's development teams often address issues in a matter of days or weeks now, instead of months.

How To Unlock The JAK Wardens Conversion Kit In Modern Warfare 3

  • Complete any five challenges from the Week 5 challenge page
  • Navigate to the Lockwood Mk2's gunsmith screen and select the JAK Wardens conversion kit

After the JAK Wardens' recent release, users noticed a bug that caused its bullets to travel incorrectly when both shotguns were fired at the same time. Call of Duty developers have promptly fixed the issue by releasing a hotfix earlier today on May 3. Alongside the hotfix was a note explaining that a frustrating new Warzone bug is being worked on as well. Sometime next week, fans can expect an additional bug fix for that issue, which causes Automatic Tactical Sprint users in Warzone to have their reloads continuously canceled.

Although the JAK Wardens are fun to use, they haven't proved as powerful as an earlier Call of Duty conversion kit that turned the Haymaker shotgun into a 60-round menace. Fortunately, since its initial release, the Haymaker kit has been repeatedly nerfed to bring it back to Earth.

In terms of other new content, MW3 also just released its Devin Booker bundle as its latest collaboration with an NBA star. The bundle is available now for 2,400 CoD Points, but NBA fans looking to complete their Call of Duty skin collection will have to wait for Kevin Durant's bundle to return to CoD's in-game store.
