Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has added a new 1v1 playlist and a Walking Dead-themed event with exclusive rewards. While these additions aren't particularly groundbreaking, Activision also made an exciting announcement today related to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile now has a confirmed release date set for March 21, when players will be able to download the iOS and Android app to earn XP for the same account they use to play Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. Warzone Mobile will offer battle royale options by featuring Verdansk and Fortune's Keep, as well as 6v6 options by including some of the franchise's traditional multiplayer modes on fan-favorite maps. A beta version of Warzone Mobile is already available in certain regions and its graphics and gameplay look surprisingly smooth.

As part of its weekly playlist update, Modern Warfare 3 added a 1v1 Shipment playlist that allows users to duke it out on the classic map. This isn't the first time that Call of Duty has added a 1v1 playlist in recent years, but it happens pretty rarely, so users should consider giving it a try before it rotates out. Modern Warfare 3's The Walking Dead: Fear the Living event also went live today, in which players can unlock Walking Dead-themed rewards in exchange for earning XP until the event ends on March 6. The event offers a total of seven cosmetic items including the Barbed and Dangerous camo, which is the final reward, and users can also earn three double XP tokens. Additionally, The Walking Dead fans can currently purchase the Michonne Operator Bundle for 2,400 COD Points through the in-game store.

All Rewards in Modern Warfare 3's The Walking Dead Event

  • The Brave Man weapon sticker
  • Red Machete decal
  • Lucille charm
  • Carl's Favorite decal
  • Sheriff Deputy Rick emblem
  • Don't Open Dead Inside calling card
  • Barbed and Dangerous camo
  • Double XP, double weapon XP, and double battle pass XP token

Sledgehammer Games also increased the drop rate for Mimic skulls in Modern Warfare 3's new Hordepoint mode, which can be played to complete the Horde Hunt event. Some users have reported difficulty in gathering enough Mimic skulls to progress through the event in a reasonable amount of time, so this probably comes as a welcome change.

Furthermore, Sledgehammer added to Modern Warfare 3's list of Aftermarket Attachments by introducing the JAK Glassless Optic sight, which can be unlocked by completing weekly challenges. The sight sports a futuristic and clean look while taking up a pretty small amount of screen space. However, the Glassless Optic probably won't overtake the MK. 3 Reflector as the game's meta sight, which takes up significantly less screen space, but will still offer fans a unique new sight to use for fun.
