Hype is building fast for the forthcoming reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the latest release in the annual Call of Duty franchise. This past week Activision dropped a teaser trailer confirming its plans to fully unveil Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on June 8. The teaser trailer was just the start of Activision's build to the event, it seems. A new live-action video featuring comedian Pete Davidson parodying the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 teaser has recently been shared, too.

In the video, Pete Davidson is sitting in the same transport vehicle used in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reveal teaser. He's surrounded by members of Task Force 141, some of past Modern Warfare games' most popular characters. That includes Ghost, Captain Price, Gaz, Soap, and newcomer Alejandro Vargas. Captain Price says Davidson is there because he vouched for him, but Davidson makes it clear that he probably shouldn't be involved.

Davidson is immediately recognizable as being out of place. He's wearing what looks like a biking helmet with a flower on it, as well as a tie-dyed tank top. While the others in the vehicle are well-armed and practicing safe gun handling, Davidson has a rocket launcher and shows a clear misunderstanding of how it works. He also jokes with other members of Task Force 141 about bringing snacks, but is unwilling to share them. Ghost, in particular, seems unhappy about the snacks.

The 40-second video is a fun advertisement intended to build up excitement for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reveal on June 8, much like past Call of Duty live-action videos featuring celebrity cameos. In the original teaser trailer, Task Force 141 is shown preparing for battle and then empties out of the vehicle guns blazing. It's funny to think that Pete Davidson may still be sitting in the transport, left behind.

There's ultimately nothing new to be discovered in the Pete Davidson video. For Call of Duty fans hoping for more information regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, they'll just have to wait for June 8 before more official information is provided.

On June 8, Call of Duty fans can expect a full unveiling of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The new game has been described as Infinity Ward's "magnum opus," the pillar of the studio's work so far. It's also rumored to feature a new multiplayer game mode named DMZ that'll be akin to Escape From Tarkov. Expect more information soon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
