For gamers feeling exasperated with the occasionally buggy experience when hopping into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer modes, a new clip showing a gamer falling victim to a seemingly invincible enemy is sure to further raise frustrations. Although Infinity Ward’s military shooter has proven to be a massive commercial success, ongoing technical problems and an underwhelming roadmap for future Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 content have left some franchise fans feeling less than enthused about the title in recent months.

Released in late 2022 following the successful reboot of the Modern Warfare series three years earlier, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the top-selling game of 2022 and the fastest-selling game in franchise history. While Modern Warfare 2’s campaign mode was well-received by many players, featuring a world-hopping story with appearances by fan-favorite characters, the game’s online multiplayer mode remains the main draw for millions of gamers. Infinity Ward has released numerous updates for the popular shooter since release, meant to both add content and address balance and technical issues, with Modern Warfare 2’s Season 2 update set to deliver some of the biggest changes yet when it arrives later this month.

A frustrating clip shared on r/ModernWarfareII that’s sure to raise the ire of some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans shows user Momentarmknm coming up against an apparently invincible enemy in the multiplayer shooter. The clip begins as Momentarmknm captures a prone opponent in the crosshairs of their sniper rifle at close range, letting loose several shots with no effect. Confused by the rifle’s ineffectiveness, they switch to firing a handgun that leaves their opponent similarly unphased. The frustrating clip ends as Momentarmknm attempts to reload their weapon before being unceremoniously eliminated by their seemingly invulnerable opponent.

The footage of the frustrating encounter was met with a mix of humor and annoyance by Modern Warfare 2 fans. One Redditor joked that the player should stop loading blanks, while another made the clever response that the video showed “what it looks like to shoot at someone with plot armor.” Less amused by the bugged encounter, one commenter suggested that the enemy player could’ve been using a godmode glitch. Other comments pointed out that, much like the sometimes-glitched walls in Modern Warfare 2, the game’s rock ledges can create invisible barriers that likely interfered with the shot.

Even as Modern Warfare 2 remains one of the most popular shooters on the market, this clip shows that there are some major bugs still waiting to be addressed. And while being wiped by a bulletproof foe may be frustrating, it’s still probably less annoying than dying twice in the same killcam.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
