Infinity Ward revealed this week's playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which removes the popular 10v10 Mosh Pit multiplayer playlist. Every Wednesday, the development team at Infinity Ward launches a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 playlist update, encouraging players to try out new modes or existing modes with newly added maps in rotation. The Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded update launched on March 15 and introduced several new pieces of content. This new Season 2 content includes the Himmelmatt Expo map, the Drop Zone mode, a Raid Episode, and new Path of the Ronin challenges. In addition, the update introduced 10v10 Mosh Pit into the playlist, allowing players to experience traditional 6v6 maps with larger teams. The 10v10 mode was highly favorable among players, but Infinity Ward is removing the mode in this week's playlist update.RELATED: Hilarious Modern Warfare 2 Clip Shows Player Trapping Opponent on ShipmentThe Modern Warfare 2 playlist update for March 22 drops the 10v10 Mosh Pit multiplayer playlist entirely and replaces it with Close Quarters Mosh Pit. Himmelmatt 24/7, One in the Chamber, All or Nothing, Drop Zone, and 3rd Person Mosh Pit return from the March 15 playlist update, causing some frustration in the player community due to the lack of fan-favorite playlists. For example, Close Quarters Mosh Pit features the iconic Shipment map, but the Shipment 24/7 playlist itself is not returning this week.

Modern Warfare 2 players wanting to experience playlists outside the traditional 6v6 modes must play Ground War this week due to the absence of 10v10 Mosh Pit. However, Modern Warfare 2's Ground War mode features up to 64 players across some of the game's largest maps, which provides a much different experience compared to 10v10 Mosh Pit. Instead, 10v10 Mosh Pit prioritizes maps typically used for classic 6v6 modes while allowing more players on the field at once.

Close Quarters Mosh Pit has been updated with beloved maps such as Shipment and Dome, but the latest playlist update raises some questions and doubts by active players in the Modern Warfare 2 community. Moreover, the strong demand for the dedicated Shipment 24/7 mode persists in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded, and 10v10 Mosh Pit grew into one of the most popular playlists in the past week.

Although Modern Warfare 2 players may be unhappy with the removal of 10v10 Mosh Pit, the mode may return in a future playlist update if the unwavering demand continues. Ultimately, the decision is up to Infinity Ward, and the studio's current priorities for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 may factor into the potential return of the 10v10 mode.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
