Call of Duty Mobile was easily one of the top mobile games of 2019, earning high praise from critics and big cash for Activision. Serving as a sort of greatest hits of the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty Mobile lets CoD fans play some of the series' most popular maps on the go in a variety of multiplayer modes. It also added a Zombies mode after launch, but as it turns out, Zombies is not going to be available in the game much longer.

It's been confirmed by the development team that Call of Duty Mobile is losing its Zombies mode come March 25. The Call of Duty Mobile developers came to this decision "after extensive evaluation" where it determined that the game mode is just not reaching the level of quality it wants to see. This also means that the second Call of Duty Mobile Zombies map, Nacht Der Untoten, is not going to get a global release as previously planned.

This news is no doubt disappointing to Call of Duty Mobile players who enjoyed the Zombies mode, but it's not all doom and gloom. The development team has said that it will consider bringing Call of Duty Mobile back at some point in the future, with Nacht der Untoten in tow, if it is able to deliver a mode that is high enough quality.

With Zombies no longer being a focus, the Call of Duty Mobile development team will now focus their resources on the game's other modes. This means that fans can expect a steady stream of content for the Call of Duty Mobile battle royale mode as well as the standard multiplayer.

As evidence of this, Call of Duty Mobile has just started its new season of content, called Season Disavowed. Like previous Call of Duty Mobile seasons, Season Disavowed brings with it a slew of new content for players, including the multiplayer map Cage. Fans can expect even more new content to come to Call of Duty Mobile throughout the season.

Even so, some Call of Duty Mobile players may still be disappointed that Zombies is going away. However, it's worth pointing out that many of the high Call of Duty Mobile review scores were given before Zombies was even in the game, so there should still be plenty of quality content for fans to sink their teeth into.

Call of Duty Mobile is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
