Call of Duty Mobile developer TiMi studios has announced that fans are being given access to another Mythic weapon, with the Peacekeeper MK 2 being the gun set to take on the special status. The fiery and unique Call of Duty Mobile weapon variant goes by the name “Artifact” and will be coming to the game very soon.

The Peacekeeper MK 2 assault rifle was recently added to Call of Duty Mobile in its holiday-themed 13th season, bringing the iconic Black Ops weapon to the on-the-go FPS. Described as being “forged from space” and “infused with Magma,” the bold visual redesign of the weapon certainly stands out from the other Call of Duty Mobile gun designs. Players will be able to unlock the weapon “this week,” though a set date has not yet been specified.

The second Mythic weapon to come to Call of Duty Mobile, the Artifact Peacekeeper MK2 joins the Ascended Fennec SMG as being a mastercraft gun that TiMi Studios put extra time and care into designing. Shown off in a clip on the official Call of Duty Mobile Twitter account, players will have “a variety of range weapons available” to use with the gun. Shown as a close quarters weapon, long range rifle, and everything in between, there are clearly plenty of ways to customize the Artifact version of the Peacekeeper MK 2.

However, this Peacekeeper MK2 variant is likely to come with a steep price tag attached. Part of Call of Duty Mobile’s player base was unhappy with the Mythic Fennec’s unlock process, as it required gambles on Call of Duty Mobile’s lootboxes. With the price starting at a low 30 COD points and increasing heavily with every roll, players spent quite a bit of money trying to get the gun to appear. Beyond that, players also had to roll for attachments and the matching death effect, making for an incredibly costly and RNG-based system.

For players looking to customize the Peacekeeper MK2 without spending money, they will be happy to know that Call of Duty Mobile’s Diamond camo recently became unlockable in-game. However, players wanting a studded version of the Peacekeeper will need to put a whole lot of time into the game, as they will need to complete 150 matches with the gun. Securing 10 kills in each of those games, the 1500 spread out kills will finally unlock the coveted Diamond camo.

It will be interesting to see how fans react to the new Mythic variant, and it will be equally intriguing to see if any special versions of the QXR SMG are added to the game. Based off the VMP from the Black Ops series, the accurate and deadly weapon should prove just as popular as the Peacekeeper MK 2.
