The new update for Call of Duty: Mobile has announced tons of new content for its free-to-play community. While the season does hold a surprise for fans, it comes at a rather steep cost. Call of Duty: Mobile announced a new legendary, making a total of three Mythic tier guns within the game environment.

Mythic weapons are a newer feature in the mobile experience, with the Fennec Ascended being one of the popular choices. While the Call of Duty: Mobile Mythic weapon has been nerfed, the community is always on the lookout for the next big gun. Still, there is concern among fans after the nerf that purchasing any of the powerful new items could result in another nerf that ruins all playability for the Mythic gun.

The newest Call of Duty: Mobile Mythic weapon is the AS-Val Double Edge, which comes with four customizable builds depending on player preference. The weapon has three distinct barrels that can change the weapon from a long-range rifle to a mid-range assault option. The gun also includes a custom 3x Tactical Scope which can provide stability at range and comes with a unique style. Without the scope, the gun has an iron sight option that looks like a glass panel with a small pin, almost like a red dot sight.

While the weapon sounds impressive, it will cost any ambitious fan over $300 to acquire. While the item can be obtained through an in-game drawing mechanic, it is only available for a limited time to the game's community. This increases the Call of Duty pay-to-win factor that many fans are concerned about, but some fans argue that the gun can be countered with free options.

The ASM-10 and DR-H can outgun the AS-VAL in multiple situations, which makes the $300 purchase questionable to many players. Call of Duty: Mobile has released weapons like this before, and the community has always had balance concerns with it. So many mobile titles try to pull pay-to-win tactics, and the Call of Duty community hopes to avoid the pitfall.

Whether players buy the gun or not really does not matter to many, as the weapon has limitations. Many players believe that the Call of Duty: Mobile development team will nerf the AS-VAL if the gun is unbalanced, which makes purchasing it a gamble for most fans. Despite the hesitation, the weapon's cosmetics draw many players to try their luck at winning it through an in-game raffle.

Call of Duty: Mobile is available on Android and iOS devices.
