  • Wait to buy discounted Call of Duty games on Xbox because Xbox Game Pass may offer them soon.
  • Xbox owns all Activision games, so Call of Duty could soon be included in Game Pass.
  • Rumors suggest classic Call of Duty games may be added to Xbox Game Pass as early as June 2024.

Xbox is currently hosting a sale that heavily discounts Call of Duty games, but since all these titles are likely to come to Xbox Game Pass in the near future, it may be best not to buy them. Xbox's acquisition of Activision Blizzard means that the company now owns all the games published by the company. In turn, this means Xbox is free to bring said titles, like Call of Duty, to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Xbox Game Pass has been key to Xbox's strategy in recent years, with the company doing whatever it possibly can to bring in new subscribers. Xbox Game Pass subscribers enjoy exclusive benefits and discounts, plus they get access to a huge library of games that is updated regularly. Brand-new, day one releases come to Xbox Game Pass all the time, but the service is also home to plenty of older games. And soon, it will most likely be a one-stop destination for the vast majority of games in the Call of Duty series.

Now, it should be stressed that plans to bring Call of Duty to Xbox Game Pass have yet to be announced. However, it's telling that the Xbox Activision Blizzard Sale wraps up just before the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9. Rumors have suggested that Xbox will announce its plans to bring classic Call of Duty games to Game Pass as part of the June 9 showcase, where fans can also expect to get their first proper look at the franchise's 2024 release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

There were conflicting reports about whether Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 would be a day one Xbox Game Pass game or not, but the latest word is that it will indeed make its debut on the subscription. This means that it's highly likely that anyone signed up for Xbox Game Pass will have access to basically every main series Call of Duty game in existence by the end of the year, with one exception.

At the time of this writing, the only Call of Duty game that is not backward compatible on Xbox is Call of Duty Classic, the revamped version of the very first game in the series. It's possible that the original will one day make its return to Xbox, but regardless, Game Pass subscribers should have more Call of Duty than they know what to do with soon enough.
