Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies expands on the loadout customization options available to players, carrying over the Operators function from Warzone 2.0 DMZ. In addition to building an operator that can collect upgraded equipment like plate vests and gas masks, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies allows players to boost their operator right at deployment by using acquisitions and schematics. What exactly are these tools, and how can players get more?

How to View and Equip Acquisitions and Schematics

Players can view their full list of available schematics and acquisitions by going to the gear tab in the pre-game lobby and navigating to an empty slot in the backpack of an operator on the player's strike team. Select the empty slot to open the acquisitions and schematics menu.

Acquisitions

Acquisitions are extra items collected in-game that are not used but are stowed for extraction. These items can include ammo mods, Aether tools, and perk-a-cola cans gathered from previous deployments that can be added to an operator's backpack before starting a game and used immediately after dropping into the MWZ mission area. Players can stock up on these single-use items and store them for future games - finding a large backpack in Urzikstan will allow players to extract more acquisitions from each deployment.

Players can also receive bonus acquisitions from completing missions in Operation Deadbolt to keep their inventory stock full, as acquisitions are consumed after use or are lost if in a players' rucksack when they die and cannot exfil from a deployment.

Schematics

Schematics are rarer than acquisitions, providing permanently unlocked recipes that players can use to craft items repeatedly. Schematics can be used to create acquisitions like perk soda cans and Aether tools, as well as Wonder Weapons like the Raygun.

Players can acquire schematics as a reward from certain missions in Operation Deadbolt, but will have a much higher chance at finding schematics in-game by killing mini-bosses like maulers and mimics and completing contracts. If players can complete several contracts per deployment, they can rapidly acquire a selection of schematics to begin expanding their arsenal.
