Operators are a huge part of the multiplayer mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. They're a great addition to the cosmetic system in the game and have been expanded upon throughout different content updates. The latest update brought Alex back to the game from the campaign as well as alternative looks for some of the other operators in the game.

Some of these operators were featured in the campaign mode for the game while others are some fan favorites from the original trilogy such as Simon Riley. There are a ton of characters that were mentioned in the game that can be added but here are campaign characters that should be operators and some that shouldn't.

10 Should Be: Captain Price

Captain Price has been officially announced as an operator for Season 4 of Modern Warfare but considering he's not in the game at the moment, it's worth including him here as he's been one of the most requested characters from the campaign mode to be added as an operator for both multiplayer and Warzone.

Price has been one of the most iconic characters in the franchise since his debut in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. He's quite simply one of the coolest characters the franchise has introduced to date.

9 Shouldn't Be: Soap

Soap is a very important character in the Modern Warfare trilogy and was surprisingly not a playable character in the newest Modern Warfare game. This was far different compared to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare where he was one of the main protagonists and had an even bigger part to play in the sequels.

He was teased to be apart of the new Task Force 141 at the end of the campaign of Modern Warfare but is yet to be shown. While it would be awesome to see him in this current game, it'd be a lot better to save his reveal for a potential sequel. It'd make much more of an impact seeing him in the next game's campaign mode than just being added into multiplayer with no backstory.

8 Should Be: Kyle "Gaz" Garrick

Gaz is another operator that was just recently announced to be included as an operator in Season 4 of Modern Warfare multiplayer. He's become a fan favorite from the campaign mode and it's going to be pretty awesome to play as him in both multiplayer and Warzone.

Kyle had some big moments in the campaign and will more than likely have his story expanded upon in the future as he was revealed to be one of the members of Task Force 141 towards the end of the campaign mode.

7 Shouldn't Be: Nikolai

Nikolai is another character that returned to Modern Warfare from the original trilogy. He's quite an interesting character that has gotten the original Task Force 141 out of extremely tough situations and became a close friend to Captain Price and Soap.

However, he's much more of a fun character rather than someone that would be a great addition to the current roster of operators. Perhaps if he gets a bigger role in the future it may be worth adding him but right now there are a lot of other characters that would be better.

6 Should Be: Victor Zakhaev

While in the original timeline Zakhaev is long gone, the rebooted Modern Warfare timeline now has a very well alive Victor Zakhaev up to no good once again. His story will most likely be expanded upon in future updates to the spec-ops mode or a sequel to the reboot.

Victor Zakhaev would, however, be a cool addition to the multiplayer and Warzone as an operator considering he's already been revealed and shown. It's possible that he could be added in one of the final updates for the game as a tie in for where the story could be headed next.

5 Shouldn't Be: Shepherd

Shepherd is another character that was mentioned in the campaign that is still yet to be revealed. His reveal could be one of the biggest moments for the rebooted timeline and it would be a very disappointing one without any backstory on him.

If the sequel plays out anything like the original Modern Warfare 2, he's got a big part to play towards the end of that game, and being added randomly as an operator could ruin that reveal.

4 Should Be: Kate Laswell

Kate Laswell is a brand new character to the franchise and would be awesome to see in both multiplayer and Warzone. She seems to have a pretty close relationship with Captain Price in the campaign and it would be cool to learn more about that in future content updates.

She's never really shown in combat but seems to be able to handle herself well as she is affiliated with the CIA. Laswell could also have an interesting relationship with Shepherd that could be revealed in a potential sequel.

3 Shouldn't Be: Hadir Karim

Hadir was one of the supporting characters in the campaign mode and ended up being an antagonist towards some of the final missions. He's the brother of Farah Karim and posed as a fighter for the Urzikstan Liberation Force before being revealed to be working with Al-Qatala.

His story will definitely be continued in the future as at the end of the game, it's teased that Victor Zakhaev has much interest in him. However, Hadir wouldn't make much sense as an operator until the story is continued and would fit much better to be saved for a potential sequel.

2 Should Be: Farah Karim

Farah is the sister of Hadir Karim and was one of the main protagonists in the campaign mode. She went through a lot of tragic events such as losing her mother at the age of 8 and being tortured by General Barkov.

She was able to escape Barkov's men and lead an escape that began her fight against the terror group Al-Qatala. She's a proven fighter and is one of the coolest characters in the campaign. It'd be great to see her return in the future as well as be added to multiplayer and Warzone as an operator.

1 Shouldn't Be: Khaled Al-Asad

Khaled Al-Asad was one of the primary antagonists in the original Modern Warfare trilogy and returns in the reboot timeline as an antagonist in the spec-ops storyline. He wouldn't really be a great addition to the operator roster as he's still yet to be fully revealed and would be better saved for the right moment.

Khaled is a huge character for this rebooted timeline and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to just add him randomly with no real backstory as he will more than likely have a big part to play in the future.
