While the just released campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops has gamers everywhere salivating over the proposition of riding a motorcycle whilst wielding a shotgun, Treyarch wants to ensure that no one will be overlooking the bread and butter of the franchise: the multiplayer. G4 has our first look at 'Jungle', one of the more lush and sprawling maps to come out of the entire Call of Duty franchise.

Set in Vietnam, this map is first and foremost a sniper’s paradise. With high tree top forts and dense foliage for cover, with the right player customized loadout, a skilled sniper should be able to pick off players who run around aimlessly. But, for those like me who are more about running and gunning, Jungle has various areas that are more geared towards face-to-face shootouts. It seems like Jungle has something for everyone and it certainly looks great.

Treyarch isn’t forgetting the most enticing element of the new multiplayer either as Jungle has been tailor made for many of the different Wager Match modes available in Black Ops. I expect that with such a polished game property each of the maps has been tested to at least provide some entertainment with everything from “One in the Chamber” to “Gun Game.”

It only took one map for me to be sold on Black Ops’ multiplayer. Just seeing the level of detail and the unique qualities shown in Jungle gives me hope that Treyarch is working hard to deliver a solid product on all fronts. They haven’t moved away from what made them great (zombies), but they have stepped up to the challenge of filling a void that was created by Infinity Ward's troubles. Treyarch is moving forward with Black Ops and I like where they’re going.

What do you think of Jungle? Which type of Communist/Cold War era location would you like to see recreated as a multiplayer map?

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be available November 9th on the PS3, PC, Xbox 360, and Wii.
