In a new patch released today, developer Treyarch makes some changes to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Dead Ops Arcade 3 mode. The patch brings some changes that players have been asking for, including adjusting the XP players can get from the mode toward Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Battle Pass.

Dead Ops Arcade has been a popular smaller zombies experience in Treyarch's Call of Duty titles since the original Black Ops. The mode is a top-down twin-stick shooter that sees players progressing through a series of levels while surviving against increasingly difficult hordes of zombies. While originally just a small mini-game, the mode has grown a sizable community of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players that have pushed for the mode to receive more attention.

The fan push for the mode to be taken more seriously has seen it get a few additional updates in the past, including Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War adding the option to play through the mode in first-person as well as making the mode grant XP toward players' level and Battle Pass progress. In a new patch, Treyarch has made smaller changes in an attempt to address player's complaints, including adjusting the amount of XP players receive - although the patch notes does not mention exactly how the XP rates are being adjusted.

The patch notes also say the mode's After-Action Report had a bug that saw it displaying incorrect data which is now fixed, as well as a stability fix to the Silverback Slideways bonus round. The patch also shuffles around Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's featured playlists for zombies to now include playlists for Outbreak, Firebase Z, Die Machine, Dead Ops Arcade: First Person, and regular Dead Ops Arcade.

While the patch does not bring any large updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's zombie mode or Dead Ops Arcade 3 mode, the changes it makes should satisfy some of the community's wishes. The patch also includes a decent number of changes for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's other modes ahead of the game's upcoming Season 3 that promises more content for Zombies mode. It is good to see Treyarch continuing to update and work on their game, so hopefully the future gameplay additions are of a high quality that keeps the community satisfied and engaged.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
