Season 3 recently kicked off for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone. A lot of changes and new additions came to both games with the new season, and now Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has released a new trailer to show some of it off.

The Call of Duty series adopted the seasonal approach to adding new content free of charge with 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Previous seasons have brought a lot to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well as the free-to-play battle royale component, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Season 3 is no different.

The flashy new gameplay trailer for Season 3 shows off the new operator, maps, and weapons that it brought to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well as highlighting the ongoing story being developed by the Season releases. The trailer gives a look at the cinematics launched with the trailer, including the reveal that the Perseus Organization is working on the infamous numbers program that will be familiar to any players of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. The trailer also highlights the new multiplayer maps Yamantau and Diesel, and the return of the classic Standoff map.

The trailer also gives some looks at the new map Season 3 brought to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's new Zombies mode Outbreak. Season 3 brought a lot of changes to Outbreak, including a new main quest, weapons, vehicles, and some juicy secrets for players to search for. Lastly, the trailer gives a very short peek at the redesign brought to Call of Duty: Warzone's Verdansk map that the season redesigned to take back to 1984. The map update has been long-awaited by Call of Duty: Warzone fans, and comes as a consequence of the game's first big event that dropped nukes on the map to stop a zombie outbreak.

While Season 3 is still very young, its many additions and changes to the games seem to answer much of the community's requests. While there are still some odd issues popping up in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War since the update, Season 3 shows a lot of promise for Call of Duty's future. Hopefully, the developers continue to listen to community feedback and can use future releases to answer some of the community's remaining requests, such as adding more traditional zombies maps and bringing more completely new maps to the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone are available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
