Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is filled with different Operators to choose from, with campaign characters like Woods and Alder accompanied by fully original additions like Stitch. It seems like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies characters could be joining this lineup soon as well, with a recent leak teasing the debut of Samantha Maxis.

The leak comes courtesy of a Twitter user named @TailsDoll711, with the dataminer searching through the game's code to make several different discoveries. From various cosmetic bundles to Season 2’s new weapons, the leaker shared a massive drop of info on their Twitter page earlier this morning. While there is plenty to be excited about from the leak, many will find the arrival of Samantha Maxis as an Operator to be the most exciting.

The original antagonist of the Call of Duty Zombies storyline, Samantha Maxis was a young girl in all her appearances prior to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Corrupted by the Dark Aether and fueled by the murder of her father, Sam controlled the Zombies and ruined the world. Eventually, she was cleansed of this evil, and when the Aether story ended and the multiverse collapsed, Sam escaped with Eddie to a new reality — with this being the universe explored in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Now an adult, Firebase Z’s reveal trailer shows that Samantha can take care of herself, with the once-evil girl now an experienced survivor focused on doing the right thing and stopping a new Zombies outbreak. With the character even being referenced in Call of Duty: Warzone, most players are familiar enough with who Sam is, making the prospect of playing as her truly exciting. According to this leak from @TailsDoll711, it seems like she could be coming sooner rather than later, too.

Samantha will supposedly have a bundle that includes a Reactive camo which changes as players rack up consecutive kills in-game. According to the leaker, Samantha will also work like any other Call of Duty Operator, usable inside both Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. With players wanting to play as the adult Samantha for some time now, learning that she could potentially be coming to the game as an Operator should be thrilling news for many Zombies fans.

While this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt until Treyarch officially announces Samantha’s arrival, Zombies fans have good reason to be excited. With the Zombies storyline now connected to the campaign and multiplayer narrative, and Samantha successfully rescued in the Firebase Z main quest, all the pieces are in place to make Sam an Operator.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
