Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has revealed its latest Zombies Survival map for the upcoming Season 4. Players will be headed to East Berlin to continue in the next chapter of the Dark Aether story in Mauer der Toten.

Developer Treyarch's latest installment of its Black Ops series is currently in the last few days of its third season. While the current season's Zombies content primarily focused on Outbreak, adding the open-world game mode's first legitimate Easter Egg, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4 will see traditional Zombies return to the forefront.

Detailed in a blog post on the official Call of Duty website, Mauer der Toten is the next classic round-based Zombies experience in Black Ops Cold War. The map takes places after the events of "Operation Excision," the second Outbreak Easter Egg also coming in Season 4. As mentioned before and confirming many fan theories, Mauer der Toten is a map on the streets of war-torn East Berlin after a devastating zombies invasion has decimated the city. Set to arrive mid-season, the blog doesn't reveal any granular details about what the map may contain, and if it really does incorporate Kino der Toten, players can expect "plenty of new twists, turns, and terrifying undead threats."

In addition to revealing the next regular Zombies map, the Call of Duty blog gave players a bit more information on the Zoo Outbreak map teased during Summer Game Fest. The latest region within the Ural Mountains features a sprawling zoo overrun by the undead, and is the location of new Dark Aether story Intel and World Events. The blog also teases an Orda exhibit will eventually appear when warping to the Zoo in higher rounds. The latest Zombies Main Quest in Outbreak serves as a direct narrative prologue to the round-based Mauer der Toten, and will be available when Season 4 launches.

The new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War season is exciting for all players, but Zombies players in particular. Beyond getting a new region for Outbreak and a brand new survival map, Season 4 is making significant balancing changes. The developers are mostly reinstating the zombie health cap that came at round 40 after controversially buffing the undead with the Season 3 Reloaded patch. Snipers and melee weapons will also be receiving damage buffs, two classes that many fans have felt are long overdue for some attention.

While not too many details about the new Zombies map have been revealed, Treyarch will almost certainly be revealing more in the coming weeks. While Mauer der Toten unfortunately won't be released until mid-season, fans can occupy their time playing on Hijacked and the other new maps coming in just a few days.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
