A new, action-packed trailer has released for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The annual Call of Duty title is set to release next month.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War marks developer Treyarch's fifth entry for its Black Ops series, and eighth in the CoD franchise as a whole. Their latest effort, co-developed with Raven Software, looks to be extremely popular, as Cold War is reportedly the most-downloaded series beta ever. The trailer begins with a meeting between the games' protagonists and President Ronald Reagan. "Gentleman, is the threat real?" he asks. A flurry of red flashing images and a stealth kill ends with returning Black Ops character Adler responding, "Yes sir, we believe it is."

From there a montage cranks up, set to the 80s tune "Blue Monday" by New Order. These clips feature adrenaline-pumping explosions, assassinations, and plenty of vehicle chase scenes. The trailer then ends with the release date and a pre-order bonus at exactly the one-minute mark, a similar length to the recent Warzone Season 6 Battle Pass trailer.

The launch trailer appears to almost entirely focus on the game's campaign, with the plot centering around the longstanding conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union. The trailer has that signature "seriousness" that the franchise has become well-known for. The next-gen graphics look seriously impressive, although it's not clear exactly what platform the footage was captured on, though the game will be the first one in the franchise to run on the next generation of consoles. This year's iteration of Call of Duty will likely have a heavy emphasis on vehicles, especially when comparing this trailer along with the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer trailer.

The latest Black Ops isn't the only new piece of CoD content. Call of Duty: Warzone has seen major changes from The Haunting of Verdansk, just in time for Halloween. The free update adds festive decorations and night mode Battle Royale, in addition to plenty of jump scares. The update also adds a new Zombie Royale LTM, which puts a spin on the genre's formula.

While the game will be available on both generations of Xbox and PlayStation, PS4 and PS5 have an exclusive zombies mode for one year. Players on Xbox and PC will have to wait until November 2021 to access the Zombies Onslaught mode. But fear not, because the rest of Cold War releases for everyone in just a few weeks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on November 13. Available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
