Much like with the other entries in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players are usually out for themselves in multiplayer games. Fortunately, Redditor and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan AnthonyIce420 was able to rely on his care packages for protection instead.

AnthonyIce420’s clip is a nice change of pace, as players have had some bad luck with care packages in recent months. Two high-profile bugs related to the scorestreak have been seen, with both preventing players from accessing their care packages. Whether it is a rooftop on Raid or Moscow, several fans have shown the helicopter dropping their care packages off out of the map. Fortunately, AnthonyIce420 sees the care package landing inside the map, and it does so at the perfect time.

The first twenty seconds of the clip see the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan wreaking havoc in the enemy spawn on Nuketown. Using the recently buffed Milano 821 SMG, the player goes on an impressive streak before eventually getting gunned down by one of their opponents. Respawning at the fenced in backyard of the green house, the player throws down the smoke for the care package that they had just acquired. Waiting in the corner and believing that they are safe, the player begins inspecting their weapon.

As the gamer looks over their glowing pink SMG, they can see their teammates leaving the area one by one. While this is hardly surprising, it would have been nice for at least one of the players to protect AnthonyIce420 as they waited for their care package. Sure enough, an enemy player using the Samantha Maxis Operator turns the corner, entering from the other side of the fence. The Redditor does not seem to notice them right away, likely believing they are a teammate as the Samantha player comes closer.

Likely attempting to pull off a flashy finishing move, the enemy rushes toward the player. At the last second, AntonyIce420 turns in their direction, only to see their care package land directly on top of their would-be-killer. While care package kills have been possible within the Call of Duty series for over a decade, they are extremely rare. Further, the way in which the teammates left the player behind joins the timing of the care package rescuing its owner to make this moment even more memorable.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players may soon be worrying about enemy attack dogs, clearly a care package can be just as lethal in the right situations. As such, players may want to keep an eye on the sky so that they are not crushed by one of the flying crates.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
