Fans are gearing up for the full reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, with the game being set to receive a dedicated Direct presentation following the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9. With the reveal for the upcoming game being so close, more and more details are predictably being leaked, with official teaser trailers and announcements stoking the anticipation around the title even further.

It is now confirmed, for example, that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will take place during the Gulf War, with a range of real-world political figures from this period being very likely to be portrayed throughout the game's story. As a Treyarch release, however, more attention than usual is being placed on the potential Zombies experience of Black Ops 6, yet no official information currently exists regarding the fan-favorite mode in this year's Call of Duty. Thankfully, details regarding the Vault Edition for Black Ops 6 recently leaked, and the focus that its advertising places on Zombies is a very positive omen for fans of CoD's undead experiences.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is looming on the horizon, but because of its existence, Black Ops Cold War kind of sticks out like a sore thumb.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Vault Edition Has a Clear Zombies Focus

High expectations are already being placed on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for its Zombies experience, with some fans hoping that Treyarch takes things back to basics with the mode it created in 2008's World at War. While Call of Duty's Zombies mode has enjoyed a lot of success since its first iteration, controversy currently exists around how the mode is being handled with recent titles like Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Zombies is shaped around the Outbreak formula, first introduced with 2020's Cold War, which takes Zombies away from its traditional round-based roots and puts players in open-world maps, with objectives needing to be completed in order to progress. Modern Warfare 3 applied this gameplay framework to map assets from Warzone for its take on Zombies, and some players have been hoping that big changes are coming ever since it was announced that Treyarch will be in charge of 2024's release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Will Respect the Roots of Zombies

Many rumors and early reports about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 indicate that the title will in fact feature a more traditional Zombies mode, and recent leaks suggest that Zombies will once again be at the forefront of Call of Duty for the upcoming title. Promotional imagery for the premium Vault Edition of Black Ops 6 recently surfaced online, featuring four skins and characters that seem to be entirely centered around Zombies.

Two of the featured characters are Klaus from Cold War and Brutus from Black Ops 2's Mob of the Dead and Black Ops 4's Blood of the Dead. This range of representation is a great indicator of how much respect Treyarch is paying to the history of Zombies as a mode, with Black Ops 6 hopefully taking and learning from the best of the franchise's past. A Zombies focus on the promotional material of Black Ops 6's Vault edition is also huge news for fans of the mode, with the lack of advertisements towards core multiplayer showcasing just how important Zombies will be in the upcoming game.

Already, it seems that Black Ops 6's Zombies will feature a lot more customization than recent iterations of the mode, with Zombies finally being given the attention and resources that it needs to flourish. If the leaked promotion for the Vault Edition is anything to go off of, then fans of the traditional Zombies experience are in for a massive treat when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches later this year.
