A Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 player recently returned to the game and created a stunning mod for the Zombies mode, which turns the Die Rise map into a town cut out of a horror movie. From the looks of it, the player must have spent a massive amount of time on creating this stunning Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 mod.

Zombies mode in Call of Duty games was first introduced back in 2008 with World at War. Since then, this mode has been available in multiple CoD entries, and it has slowly become one of the most popular multiplayer modes. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Zombies mode still has a large player base due to its boss fights and huge open maps. The MW3 Zombies mode also features six-player squads, which adds to the mode's appeal.

Wacky Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Bug Leaves Player Confused After Mystery Box Purchase

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player buys a Mystery Box while playing the Zombies mode and discovers a bug where the box remains a mystery to them.

Recently, a Black Ops 2 player with the Reddit handle Braedog12 posted a video of them playing in the Die Rise map with a mod that turned it into a very scary town. The video shows that the mod makes the map so dark that it's almost impossible to see anything inside buildings without a flashlight. The streets are a bit less dark because of environmental lighting, but it's still dark enough to scare the heart out of people when a Zombie comes running. Though this tribute is not as permanent as getting tattoos of favorite CoD symbols, it certainly took a huge amount of effort.

Black Ops 2 Mod Turns It Into a Super Scary Horror Game

The player who created the mod explained that they suddenly got the idea for this mod when they were working on revamping the graphics. They used global illumination to make the lighting look realistic, which is evident from the dark halls inside buildings and better-lit rooftops. The BO2 player also added a flashlight for better gameplay, which can be toggled off when it's not needed. They also made a custom fog preset, lowered the skybox intensity, and turned off the HUD and sunlight to create a scary atmosphere. Commenters on the post are eager to play this modded version while they wait for the Zombies mode in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

BO6's Zombies and other multiplayer modes are not the only aspects that have Call of Duty fans on the edge of their seats. The franchise's next entry is also aiming to blow fans' minds with new gameplay mechanics like omnimovement and a story that takes on a rogue spy thriller narrative. Black Ops 6 will also have increased sniper damage, which will make the multiplayer gameplay substantially different from MW3 and Warzone. While fans look forward to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25, this recent BO2 mod will certainly keep them busy for quite some time once it's available.
