Call of Duty: Warzone has seen many updates since it was released in 2020. The mode's massive success has spawned new game modes, Easter eggs, and many balance changes. These balance changes can vary from insignificant to meta-defining.

Every gun has a realistic place in the world of Call of Duty: Warzone, though sometimes that gun's sole purpose is showing off to friends. The weapons on this list can, theoretically, win in a match, but winning with them will shock the audience and humiliate opponents.

Updated June 28th, 2022 by Hodey Johns: With a few seasons out since this article was originally published, this list was in need of a shake-up. Some of the weapons are so bad that they've remained bottom-tier weapons starting in season one. However, other weapons received the boosts needed to no longer be considered complete jokes. They've mercifully graduated off of this list. Still, other weapons added in further content or existing weapons that got nerfed have suddenly found themselves in the bottom tier. This list has been updated with the worst of the worst as of the latest updates.

10 Dragunov

Call Of Duty Warzone Dragunov From The Modern Warfare Addition

If there is any hallmark of this game compared to the competition, it's the massive amount of open spaces. Call of Duty: Warzone is a sniper's dream come true. The only way to turn that dream into a nightmare is by using the Dragunov.

Unless zombies make a return to the game, this gun is close to useless. It was already a weak sniper rifle until a nerf came along and made it so the gun is no longer a one-shot kill to the head at any range. Unless the opponent is completely incompetent, there is no way they'll stand still long enough for the Dragunov to take them out.

9 Crossbow

warzone crossbow

Off-meta weapons can be as satisfying to win Warzone matches with, if not more so. If any weapon is satisfying to down players with, it's the Crossbow. With that said, there's a good reason why no one uses the weapon.

Players will either have to use overkill or obtain 2 Loadouts with the crossbow. While the weapon fires a single high-damage bolt, it has extremely low bullet velocity. Gamers will have to aim well above the head of an enemy that is only 100 meters away. The crossbow is a troll weapon and nothing more.

8 Nail Gun

Call Of Duty Warzone Reloading The Nail Gun

As Call of Duty: Warzone looks for ways to improve, they should take a look at some weapons that have become relics. The Nail Gun was once a gun that was tough to unlock, but the reward gave players access to an SMG on par with the AS VAL (another gun in need of an update).

Once the honeymoon was over, future seasons added stronger SMGs in all areas. Given the size of maps, it's already hard to justify using all but the most powerful SMGs. As one of the worst in its class, players will have to hope developers remember the good times and bring it back to superiority.

7 FR 5.56

Call Of Duty Warzone Shooting At A Helicopter With The FR 5.56

The FR 5.56 is in no man's land. As an assault rifle, it's terrible, so to make it work, players have chosen to drastically change its build. Some make it faster and lighter, sacrificing their range and accuracy to make it more of an SMG. Still, even if mobility changes are implemented soon, it will never be as good as other true shotguns and SMGs.

The other choice is to turn it into a sniper rifle and go the opposite direction. Bad news; it's still worse than other sniper rifles. The given gun and its two variations are bottom-tier weapons on any build list.

6 Hauer 77

call of duty warzone shotgun loadout

The pump shotgun is downright atrocious. It has hit registration issues and rarely downs opposing players in less than three shots. The abysmal Model 680 is miles better than the Hauer, which is a complete joke of a weapon in Warzone.

Not only is the Hauer the worst shotgun in Warzone, but it is also likely the worst weapon in the game. Gamers are better off with a ground loot Pelington 703 at point-blank range.

5 Einhorn Revolving

Call Of Duty Warzone Dragunov From The Vanguard Addition

When players decide to use the Einhorn Revolving, the first thing they'll have to do is decide how to fix it. In fairness, its weaknesses can be fixed. The weak stopping power can be beefed up, the range can be elongated, and the slow firing rate can speed up a bit.

But players can't fix up every weakness in one build, they have to decide which problems to deal with first. Considering most other shotguns don't have this issue, the use for the Einhorn Revolving is minimal. Unless the reduced player count eliminates all of the quality players, this weapon just won't go the distance.

4 Milano 821

call of duty black ops cold war milano primary

The Milano is like a Nerf gun. It will make the hitmaker sound for what feels like an eternity before downing enemy players. The weapon's laser-accurate recoil does not make up for its extraordinarily long time to kill. Raven needs to give the gun at least a slight buff to make it usable. For now, it is one of the worst guns in Warzone.

3 EBR-14

warzone snipers

In comparison to the SKS, the EBR-14 has a slower fire rate, smaller maximum magazine, and slower ADS speed. There is no reason to use the EBR over the SKS. Frankly, there is no reason to use the SKS either, as the Cold War tactical rifles are much better.

The EBR's bouncy recoil ruins its long-range potential. If the weapon had modest recoil it could be usable in Warzone.

2 Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle

Call Of Duty Warzone Loadout View Of The Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle

When the Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle hit the scene, it was laughed offstage. In a game without tanks, who really cares about a rifle that shoots them? After some buffs, the Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle is better, but still nowhere close to a competent sniper rifle.

The biggest issue is the recoil after firing and the flinch when being fired at. Getting one kill is tough enough, but if the opponents have deciphered the position of someone with the Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle, they'll have to hilariously steal an enemy's loadout to continue.

1 725

warzone 725

Few weapons can match the raw damage-per-shot of the 725 shotgun in multiplayer. In Warzone, it's a different story. Two shots are needed just to down a fully-armored opponent, which is all the 725 can dish out before gamers have to reload. The weapon's limit of two shots per reload is a serious limitation to its potential. The slug round 725 is fun to use but impractical in most matches.
