Looking back at the original season 5 promotional image, Reddit user PalmanusBraht points out that the female shown in the image below is missing from the game. It is unknown who she is, what her role is, or why she was not added but many fans completely forgot she was in the promotion at all. As players looked closer at the released content, they quickly noticed that Morte was added in this female operator's presumed place.
There have been several theories as to why she was wiped from the game. One fan believes that the model that was used for the promotion said some controversial things online, and because of that, she simply was deleted and replaced with Morte.
Other fans say that the woman is simply promotional and was never intended to be added to the game. As a model, she simply stood in to fill some of the space for promotional content and add some additional flair to the image.
As fans look closer at the content found in Season 5, they realized that she was not the only thing missing. The belt-fed LMG seen prominently in promo images was never added, and several skins continue to be missing despite being shown in promotional videos.
Many fans believe that replacing this mystery operator for Morte was an overall bad idea. Based on her positioning in the promo, she was most likely an important member of Shadow Company. Fans wish they had a chance to get to know the operator's fictional history before having it simply replaced.
While Morte is not a "bad" operator, he appeared out of nowhere in a spot promised to someone else. Still, many fans have simply forgotten she existed, making it a minor reminder in a larger field of fan concerns.
