Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is just around the corner, and players are now preparing themselves for a new wave of weapons, maps, and battle pass tiers to dig into. This upcoming season will likely continue the trend of ever-increasing quality in Modern Warfare seasons continues, but there is solid evidence now for just a few of the additions that players have to look forward to. In the video trailer for Modern Warfare Season 4, both a Vector SMG and a Galil can be seen in the hands of operators, all but confirming their addition in Season 4.

Fan-favorite character Captain Price was the operator holding the Galil in the trailer, convincing many excited fans that both he and the iconic weapon will be added to Modern Warfare in due time. However, the excitement for the Galil and Vector is far beyond the hype seen for the guns of previous seasons. There's good reason for all of the anticipation, since the Galil is an extremely popular weapon with some really interesting features, while the Vector is no less than one of the best-looking and most unique modern weapons out there, resulting in it being featured in countless video games and movies. Not only that, but the Vector has been rumored for Modern Warfare since the days of Season 1, leaving fans to pine after it for far longer than they are typically accustomed to.

The Galil in Modern Warfare and Warzone

There are several reasons to be excited for the Galil in Modern Warfare. It is an extremely versatile and reliable weapon, it has seen service in many different setting since its creation, and it has a genuinely interesting design with some entertaining quirks. First and foremost, some Galils issued in Israel famously included a wire cutter, carrying handle, and even a bottle-opener on the front handguard, taking a Swiss-army approach to the design. There is plenty of speculation to be had about the Galil in Modern Warfare, but if there is not a blueprint in the store or the battle pass that includes a bottle opener on the model, many fans will be sorely disappointed.

The Galil also has interesting prospects for handling and shooting characteristics. The weapon has been offered in both 5.56 and 7.62 calibers, so there will likely be a variety of ammunition options that will allow the gun to resemble anything from and M4A1 to an AK-47 in damage and fire rate. Speaking of the AK-47, the Galil is in fact based on that legendary weapons system, but has gone through several iterations of improvements to its accuracy, wight, and handling characteristics. The version offered in the game will likely be a Galil ACE, which is a lighter, more modernized version of the gun.

Because of its extra high accuracy, real-world performance, and potential for a variety of ammunition types, the Galil will likely be one of the best weapons in Modern Warfare. It may finally provide players with an alternative to the AK that excels in damage, but still has respectable accuracy and mobility. Of course, there may be other unforeseen downsides, but for the now the prospects are bright. If its accuracy and damage are good enough, it may become a staple weapon in Warzone, where those characteristics are valued more highly than the fast-paced, close-quarters fights of typical Modern Warfare multiplayer.

The Vector in Modern Warfare and Warzone

What will surely excel in close quarters situations is the Kriss Vector. This weapon's massive popularity, futuristic looks, and unique characteristics will surely make it an instant hit, not to mention the possibilities for customization and the potential for staggering damage numbers. The Galil may be relatively unique, but it has nothing on the Vector. The Vector is an SMG with an extremely high fire rate that can near 1,200 rounds per minute in .45 ACP, which is mitigated by a unique recoil system. The recoil pattern of a Vector is defined by its bolt, which travels backwards and then angles down, giving the gun a distinct feel.

Recoil patterns can make or break a weapon in Modern Warfare and Warzone. While recoil in Modern Warfare is extremely light compared to many other games, certain guns like the ever-popular M4A1 see massive popularity because of how predictable their recoil is, not necessarily their damage output. A unique, downwards-trending recoil pattern for the Vector might make it less popular, but it would certainly make it more challenging, and ultimately more fun, to use. There was also a recent buff to pistols using .45 caliber ammunition, so the Vector may become a true monster at close ranges.

The Vector may finally be the weapon to challenge the MP5 for the spot of best SMG, and it wouldn't be a moment too soon. Just as the MP5 can transform into all sorts of variants, the Vector was also designed to be an extremely modular system. Long barrels, a variety of calibers, suppressors, and all sorts of grips and stocks can totally change the Vector from a zippy close-range shredder to a long-range sharpshooter and everything in between. As has been proven countless times in Modern Warfare and Warzone, the more versatile the weapon, the better it is to use.

If their reputations are to be believed, the new weapons coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone may be some of the best the game has yet seen, to say nothing of all of the new maps, operators, and other content that players have to look forward to. Disappointment isn't out of the picture quite yet, but given how each season has gone so far, there is little reason to doubt that the game will do anything but improve.
