Die Maschine is the first Zombies map offered in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This new Zombies experience introduces a lot of changes and new game mechanics. What remains the same with this entry is the hidden details in Die Maschine. However, many players have missed some of the Easter eggs and hidden details scattered across the new Zombies map.

10 To Meme Or Not To Meme

One of the few Easter eggs other than the main Easter egg quest that is present in Die Maschine is actually a meme. Upon activating the triggers, the game will teleport the players into the Dark Aether, specifically, the Particle Accelerator room. Here players will witness a group of zombies reenacting the famous coffin dance meme. To activate this Easter Egg, players need to shoot five blue orbs hidden around the Particle Accelerator room. Shooting the fifth one teleports players automatically.

9 The Cosmic Silverback

Although this new Call of Duty brings a new Dead Ops Arcade game mode, there is, in fact, another instance of one of the infamous Silverbacks seen in Die Maschine. As players first enter the game, they will see the dilapidated building in front of them. This building is covered in graffiti from top to bottom. Most of this graffiti doesn't hold much merit or meaning. However, there is one that players can see from the spawn area that means something. It is a large image of the Cosmic Silverback from the first iteration of Dead Ops Arcade in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

8 Loose Change

Perks-A-Cola bottles

Since Black Ops 2, there has been a hidden detail with the Perks-A-Cola where players can go prone in front and up against the machines, and they could receive free points. This mechanic became less subtle and more well-known with every new Black Ops game. Players are still able to earn these free points or "loose change" as Black Ops Cold War refers to it by performing the same action. The notification will pop up on the screen with a "+100" to let players know that they have successfully done so.

7 Different Voices

Hardcore Black Ops players will recognize one of the characters that communicate with them throughout Die Maschine: Officer Weaver from the first Black Ops.

As he talks to the players via radio about lore, backstory, tips, and general banter, another voice will always join him immediately after he finishes talking. Some players may be introduced to Doctor Strauss or Doctor Grey. Others may come across a Major Carver. Actually, all three characters will make an appearance each time players hop into a game.

6 Easter Egg Song

Zombies against a ray gun

Almost every Zombies map since the very beginning has had an in-game song that can play for all players for a short time. These Easter Egg songs usually are meant to fill the dark and ominous space of the Zombies maps while also serving as an interpretation of the maps' aesthetic. The typical activation for these songs is finding three of the same objects throughout that map. Die Maschine is no different. Find three cassette tapes, and the song "Alone" by Kevin Sherwood will start playing.

5 Sound Of Nostalgia

Each Zombies map has a very unique soundtrack that encompasses the experience that players will undergo. Some of these maps have a much more iconic soundtrack than others. One of which is the popular map Mob of The Dead from Black Ops 2 where its soundtrack is adorned with somber and solemn strings. Die Maschine uses this soundtrack as well or at least takes inspiration from it. Players will hear it at the start and end of every round.

4 The House Of The Dead

As said before, there is a lot of graffiti in Die Maschine. The graffiti also extends beyond the first building that players come across. There is a crashed plane next to the building with graffiti on it as well.

Next to the plane are rocks with even more graffiti. One of these rocks has a graffitied image that many may or may not recognize. This is actually an image of the very classic arcade game known as The House of The Dead which is one of the original zombie-slaying video games.

3 Capitalize On The Kaboom

Red Zombies Power-ups

Every Zombies map since the first ones from Call of Duty: World at War features power-ups that provide advantages for players as they fight through hordes of the undead. These power-ups do things such as refilling ammo, allowing for players to kill zombies with one hit, and even simply granting bonus points. One of these power-ups which is symbolized by a nuclear bomb instantaneously kills all zombies and giving the players 400 points as a result. In Die Maschine and unlike previous maps, players can still get maximum points if they kill zombies before they die from the bomb.

2 Prices Increase

Elemental Pop Perk Machine and Can

In the previous Call of Duty Zombies games, the famed Perks-A-Cola machines have had styles, jingles, and even prices that set them apart from each other. For example, Juggernog has had a price set at 2,500 points, and Speed Cola was priced at 3,000 points. In Die Maschine, the Perks-A-Cola machines actually scale in price with every purchase that the player makes. For example, every perk starts at 2,500 points, and after the first perk is purchased, the other perks go up in price by 500 points and so on.

1 Change In Aesthetic

The Perks-A-Colas have had noticeable changes made to them to show not only new game graphics but also a new setting and era in which Die Maschine takes place. The glass bottles have become aluminum cans, and the old-fashioned soda machines have turned into '80s vending machines. One Perks-A-Cola machine has made changes that match its style and jingle. Stamin' Up which was first introduced with a funky jazz song in Black Ops now bears a skeleton with an afro on the cans in the machine with a label that says "Drink Up The Funk!"
