Season 2 Reloaded of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently launched, giving fans access to new content for several different game modes. The patch also saw several Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns changed, though some players feel that far more change is necessary.

One aspect of the new balancing pass that has been unanimously praised is the buffs, with the adjustments to the Milano 821 SMG in particular being received well by fans. Previously a poor choice when lined up against top tier guns like the AK-74u, the weapon had been an afterthought pre-patch. Following this update, though, the game's community should be seeing a lot more of the Milano in online games. While Redditor DevilHoboCousin joined in with support of this bufs, they also made a lengthy post about the lackluster nerfs.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have always been quick to criticize the game and demand changes, and DevilHoboCousin is no different. While the player does say they “really enjoy” the game overall, they point to several guns that they feel need more changes. One of these is the LC10 SMG, a Season 2 addition that has become a must-use gun since its arrival. While DevilHoboCousin and other commenters discuss how its nerf was the most impactful of the batch, clearly the Reddit user would like to see the gun take a bigger hit.

However, while the LC10 took a decent hit, the Stoner 63’s nerf is far from a game changer. As pointed out by the Redditor, the gun received a max damage nerf. The move essentially sees the gun killing in one less bullet, but with the gun having an “RPM of 722 with no recoil,” this feels meaningless. After all, players can fire the weapon incredibly fast and deal damage from any range due to the lack of recoil mentioned by DevilHoboCousin. As such, the Stoner 63 LMG seems just as deadly as it always has.

Finally, the player calls out the Streetsweeper shotgun. Season 1’s midseason addition, this secondary weapon has a massive magazine size. While this is offset by a brutal reload time, players will rarely find themselves emptying all the shells, as the speedy Streetsweeper does enough damage to kill in only two shots. This point was agreed upon by several commenters, with fellow Reddit users such as Minted-Blue believing that shotguns are far too powerful to be placed in the secondary weapons category.

Clearly, this latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War balancing pass has not blown fans away. While there may be some small gun changes in this week’s RC-XD tuning patch, gamers can expect the next substantial weapon update to arrive alongside the launch of Season 3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
