Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will see the return of the "Play of the Game" system across all of its game modes. This has been the standard end-match system for several years despite constant backlash from the community.
Before "Play of the Game" was the standard, fans would see the final kill that ended the match rather than a specific "play." This feature helped highlight a key moment in modes where the emphasis was on the final kill, like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Search and Destroy. Many players feel that the "Play of the Game" system does not work as it should and usually leads to either frustration or confusion.
If "Play of the Game" worked, fans would be slightly more accepting but the system barely works as advertised. Instead, it highlights rapid kills, point scores, and often unimpressive clips of scorestreaks being scorestreaks.
