The three-part BURN THE WITCH film debuted in October 2020, forming part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the BLEACH franchise which culminated in the return of the anime series in the form of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War. Crunchyroll streamed the BURN THE WITCH film when it came out. The series is an adaptation of the 5-chapter volume of the manga created by Tite Kubo, which was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from August to September 2020.

The BURN THE WITCH series is a spin-off of Kubo's BLEACH which is set in an alternate version of London known as Reverse London; a place where dragons run amok challenged only by the Witches and Wizards of Wing Bind, an organization serving as the "western branch" of the Soul Society.

In this world, dragons are responsible for 72% of all deaths prior to the separation of London from its Reverse counterpart; however, the dragons themselves remain invisible to residents of the "Front" London. Lead singer of musical outfit "Cecile Die Twice", Ninny Spangcole is a Wing Bind agent looking to climb the ranks together with her partner, Noel Niihashi, but they have their work cut out for them when they are ordered to protect a young man named Balgo Ywain Parks and his Pomeranian, Osushi; and later when one of Ninny's former bandmates, Nancy Baljure, emerges from the woodwork with a dragon that she believes is her own.
