From The Guild to The Port Mafia, Bungo Stray Dogs is full of antagonists in one form or the other and with various motives. The Decay of the Angel is one such antagonist group. It is a group of terrorists based in Yokohama, Japan, who commit murders and cause great fear and suffering. It comprises five members who each have powerful abilities and skills that contribute to the group's overall goal. Named after the 1971 novel by Yukio Mishima, the dangerous group is led by Kamui, who Ranpo Edogawa deduces to be Ōchi Fukuchi.

The Decay of the Angel was introduced into the world of Bungo Stray Dogs in the 57th chapter of the manga after Nikolai Gogol shoots the driver of a police car. The members of this group are some of the strongest characters in the story, each with some unique supernatural abilities that make them formidable opponents in battle. The Decay of the Angel members are all powerful, but where do each of them scale on a ranking of strength?

5 Sigma

Sigma, whose real name is not disclosed, belongs to the Decay of the Angel and is also the manager of Sky Casino. He calls himself ‘The casino man’ and specializes in the transfer of information. Introduced in the 72nd chapter, Sigma is a fan favorite, holding the admiration of many fans with how simple and relatable he is. He is depicted as a positive character, liked by his employees and customers.

Sigma has no strong sense of self because of his complicated past or the absence of one. He is therefore driven and even described as desperate. Although his ability lies on the weaker side of the spectrum, it is valuable, and he uses it quite well. Like Sigma himself, the name of his ability is undisclosed. With it, he can obtain the information he desires by performing a touch-based exchange with someone who possesses said information.

4 Bram Stoker

Bram Stoker also possesses an unnamed ability, often described as 'infection-type.' He has a particularly unique appearance, similar to a vampire’s, and with a sword replacing the missing lower half of his body. He is also known as the 'Lord of the Undead' or 'Prince of the Dead' because he can create and control vampires.

When Bram bites a victim, his ability enables him to turn the victim into a vampire under his will. Vampires under Bram’s will also have the power to bite more victims and create even more vampires who will answer to Bram. Even the dead are not excluded, as in the 88th chapter, Bram turns the dead Akutagawa into a vampire. Bram Stoker’s vampiric ability has the potential for large-scale chaos. It is no wonder it is greatly feared.

3 Nikolai Gogol

Named after the Russian author, Nikolai Gogol is a lover of freedom and is often described as a clown because of his dramatic and hysterical nature. Introduced in the manga’s 57th chapter along with the group’s title, Nikolai fights with the ability called ‘The Overcoat.’ This ability makes him capable of manipulating space within 30 meters. Nikolai is also a master of disguise, spending several months pretending to be Tonan’s secretary.

In the 58th chapter of the manga, Nikolai displays the power of The Overcoat in a battle against Atsushi Nakajima. He uses his coat to damage Atsushi's leg severely and blast him off with a telephone pole. Although Nikolai goes about his murderous business acting unaffected by his actions, he does feel some guilt. However, this never prevents him from using his powers in exciting and intimidating ways.

2 Fyodor Dostoevsky

Fyodor Dostoevsky is the group member with the infamous ability to kill with a single touch. This ability is called Crime and Punishment, after the 1866 novel by the real-life Fyodor Dostoevsky.

But even without this ability, Fyodor is an intimidating enemy and a master of strategy. He drives Ace to suicide just by winning a card game. One of the many interesting facts about Fyodor is that he is driven by a desire for a world free of abilities, even though he possesses one.

1 Ōchi Fukuchi

Ōchi Fukuchi leads the Decay of the Angels with cold efficiency. As captain of the Hunting Dogs, he could hide his true identity as Kamui, leader of the terrorist group. However, Ranpo Edogawa reveals his true identity, and Fukuchi takes off his cheerful mask. Once a member of the military and present in the Great War, Fukuchi is convinced that the best thing for the world is to destroy all countries. This is his main ambition as the leader of the Decay of the Angels.

Fukuchi possesses the ability called ‘Mirror Lion,’ which he uses to significantly increase the power of any weapon he uses. With this ability, he fights Atsushi Nakajima and Ryūnosuke Akutagawa at once, coming out triumphant in the end. Once known as 'The Man of a Hundred Faces,' Fukuchi is also skilled at espionage. But his most intriguing and terrifying ability is his power over time. Using his sword, the Shintō Amenogozen, he can cut through time and return to a previous version of himself before he is hurt. Because of this unique ability, many fans playfully describe him as an undying cockroach.
