The official broadcast date for the upcoming fourth season of the anime adaptation of Kafka Asagiri's Bungō Stray Dogs, illustrated by Sango Harukawa, was revealed in a brand-new trailer which dropped on Wednesday. This is the second official trailer for the upcoming season, featuring previews of the series' opening and ending theme songs, as well as an introduction to several new cast members.

The official Twitter account for the Bungō Stray Dogs series shared a link to the trailer on the Kadokawa Anime YouTube channel. Bungō Stray Dogs season 4 is set to broadcast on January 4, 2023.

The new trailer revealed the official broadcast date for Bungō Stray Dogs season 4, which premieres on January 4 at 23:00 JST on TOKYO MX, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it airs in Japan. series' opening theme song, "TRUE STORY" by SCREEN mode; while the ending theme song will be "Shirushi" performed by Luck Life. Both artists have performed theme songs featured in previous iterations of Bungō Stray Dogs.

The new cast members announced include Yūki Kaji (Eren Jaeger, Attack on Titan) as Saigiku Jōno; Shōya Chiba (Kiyotaka Ayanokōji, Classroom of the Elite) in the role of Sigma; Makoto Koichi (Elza, Interspecies Reviewers) will play Teruko Ōkura; Akio О̄tsuka, who played the titular character in Osamu Tezuka's Black Jack is cast as Genichirō Fukuchi; Takehito Koyasu (Zeke Jaeger, Attack on Titan) as Nikolai G; Takeshi Kusao (Trunks, Dragon Ball Z) as Mushitarō Oguri and Yōhei Azakami (Guel Jeturk, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury) as Tecchō Suehiro. The main cast from previous seasons all return to reprise their roles.

The series will be directed by Takuya Igarashi at Studio BONES, returning alongside the series scriptwriter Yoji Enokido; character designer and chief director of animation Nobuhiro Arai; as well as art director Yumiko Kondo. Music is by Taku Iwasaki (Composer, Noragami), while the editing will be handled by Shigeru Nishiyama.

The fourth season of Bungō Stray Dogs was announced in November 2021, following the third season and spin-off anime titled Bungō Stray Dogs WAN!, which aired in April 2019 and January 2021 respectively. The first season of the series was released in April 2016, running until June, with the second season of Bungō Stray Dogs coming that October and running until December. The original manga, created by Kakfa Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, was first published in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine in 2012. Bungō Stray Dogs season 4 will broadcast on January 4.
