Bungo Stray Dogs is an anime filled with interesting and eccentric characters. The show is set in a world where humans who possess supernatural powers are a common occurrence. The story follows a small group of powered individuals who belong to a special organization known as the Armed Detective Agency. This group of individuals takes on odd jobs of varying difficulty and do their best to be helpful members of society despite their sometimes volatile personality traits.
Atsushi Nakajima was a homeless orphan until he met Osamu Dazai, a high-ranking member of the Armed Detective Agency, during which he was made privy that he was a powered human and was drafted into the agency semi-against his will. Now Atsushi does his best to uphold the agency's standards and uses his new gift to protect the new family he's found. The armed detective agency is a powerful organization that rivals some of the most powerful criminal gangs in the city. The members of the Agency are feared and respected on the streets of the city for their devastating power and strength.
9 Ranpo Edogawa

It is fair to say that Ranpo Edogawa is one of the few true detectives of the armed detective agency. However, on the surface, Ranpo is an arrogant and somewhat airheaded person who gives very little thought to the feelings of others and never lets an opportunity to announce his mental superiority pass by.
Compared to other members of the agency, Ranpo is a thinker, not a fighter. His ability, Super Deduction, grants him extraordinary deductive powers, which makes him the best kid detective in the city.
8 Jun'ichiro Tanizaki
Juni'chiro is a laid-back and kindhearted member of the armed detective agency with a personality similar to Atsushi. Jun'ichiro doesn't have any toxic traits made apparent by his ability and doesn't seem to possess any eccentric qualities like some of his coworkers.
Being very level-headed and easy-going, Jun'ichiro is also not a strong fighter. While it has been demonstrated that Jun'ichiro is not opposed to violence and can protect himself to an extent, an expert combatant he is not.
7 Kyoka Izumi
Kyoka is one of the youngest members of the armed detective agency and was newly inducted into the organization after defecting from the Port Mafia. Kyoka was more a prisoner of the Port Mafia than a supporting member, as being an assassin ran in her family. Her parents died at the hands of enemies they made during their careers, and her mother passed down her ability known as Demon Snow.
Kyoka was taken in by the Port Mafia and trained into a deadly assassin, where she earned the title "thirty-five count murderess." Kyoka now uses her ability to be helpful to the agency and tries her best to shake her ruthless personality traits.
6 Atsushi Nakajima
Atsushi is one of the newest and youngest members to be brought into the Armed Detective Agency, formerly a homeless orphan. After saving Dazai's life while sleeping under a bridge, he was brought into the agency and given control over his weretiger ability.
Because of his new control over his power, Atsushi is able to perform competently in combat situations, having increased speed, reflexes, strength, and durability. Atsushi's kind and thoughtful personality make him quite opposed to violence, but to do the right thing and protect his new family and friends, he will do what he must.
5 Akiko Yosano

Akiko is the resident doctor of the Armed Detective Agency. She is a dedicated and loyal member willing to go the extra mile for her friends. She is portrayed as an elegant and classy young woman that everyone around her seems to fear to some degree. The tense air around Akiko stems from her role as the doctor to the agency, her unique ability, called Thou Shall Not Die, allows her to heal any wound as long as it is fatal.
While Akiko's power is not negative, it is worsened by her sadistic personality trait. Many times over, in order to heal those under her care, she must viciously dissect them, bringing them to the brink of death before saving their life. In addition, Akiko is a highly trained hand-to-hand higher who also utilizes a large-bladed weapon with above-average skill. Paired with her ability, Akiko is a force to be reckoned with in any battle.
4 Osamu Dazai
One of the mentor members of the Armed Detective Agency, Dazai is a former Port Mafia member who defected after a long life of dread. Dazai is perhaps the most eccentric member of the agency, as he is constantly seeking out forms of self-harm to end his existence as a hobby.
As one of the strongest members of the agency with one of the most powerful abilities, Dazai is a highly skilled fighter, able to go toe to toe with Atsushi'completell weretiger transformation, seemingly avoiding all of his attacks with little effort. Alongside his power, No Longer Human, Dazai can more than handle himself in a fight.
3 Doppo Kunikida
Doppo is one of the best and strongest fighters in the agency and is also one of its top members. Doppo serves as the pseudo-second in command of the agency and is the student of the president, Yukichi, who has trained him in martial arts.
Kunikida's combat prowess is top-notch as he can quickly subdue most opponents in little to no time, as seen during the attack on the Armed Detective Agency by the Black Lizard. However, Kunikida's analytical mind and orderly compulsions make his technique refinement exquisite and make him overly prepared for most threats at any given moment.
2 Yukichi Fukuzawa
Yukichi is an indomitable personification of will and poise and serves as the president of the Armed Detective Agency. While throughout the early parts of the series, Yukichi is shrouded in mystery and is rarely seen or heard of, he retains a heavy presence throughout the show. However, Yukichi is the driving force behind the Armed Detective Agency and is highly revered by his subordinates.
From a young age, Yukichi attended a private government school that thoroughly trained him in martial arts. Since, Yukichi has honed his offensive and defensive skills to perfection, making him one of the most significant threats in the city, able to easily overwhelm several trained assassins at once with minimal effort.
1 Kenji Miyazawa
Kenji is an odd addition to the staff of the Armed Detective Agency as he possesses a more optimistic personality that is a stark contrast to his coworkers. Kenji can always be seen smiling and treats people with kindness and trust regardless of the circumstances surrounding them.
Keji has a poor sense of danger but can easily take care of himself thanks to his powerful ability called Undefeated by the Rain. This power grants Kenji incredible strength and durability, allowing him to rip metal with his bare hands and easily overpower wild animals.
