Bungie has deployed a partial fix for the Destiny 2 weapon crafting bug that has been active in the game over the weekend, which has seemingly managed to resolve the glitch to a great extent. This bug enabled players to craft some weird weapons in Destiny 2 that dealt unfathomable amounts of damage, and completely disrupted the gameplay in both PvP and PvE activities.

Considering the number of weird and powerful weapons players were able to craft, the community has dubbed this bug as one of the worst in Destiny 2 history. This was discovered in the community when Trials of Osiris went live in Destiny 2 on Friday, but instead of disabling the game mode, Bungie decided to let it stay active as players wreaked havoc across the game with their broken weapons. Although, the developer addressed the bug swiftly and also mentioned that it was working on a two-step process to fix it, but also admitted that it might take a while to fully resolve the issue as this was a complex glitch. Now, after more than 48 hours of the bug being active, Bungie has deployed a fix that has seemingly curbed the glitch to a great extent.

In an update provided by the official Bungie Help account on Twitter, the developer mentioned that it temporarily disabled “a selection of Exotic and Legendary frames and perks on crafted weapons,” including all the craftable Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 as well. However, this fix doesn’t affect any version of the weapon that wasn’t crafted. In addition to this, Bungie also mentioned that it is currently working on implementing a second major fix, along with multiple other updates to ensure that this glitch is fully removed from the game.

Over the years, Destiny 2 has witnessed some major bugs and glitches that players have enjoyed and have also been annoyed with. For instance, Telesto has managed to break the game on multiple occasions which many players didn’t appreciate, but they thoroughly enjoyed the glitch that allowed them to run 12-man raids in Destiny 2.

However, this weapon crafting bug has seemingly divided the community considering some fans think it is fun to melt bosses with an Auto-Rifle that fires shotgun shells, whereas many believe that it negates the thrill of legitimately completing the game’s most difficult activities as it basically requires no skill. Additionally, Bungie has always rushed to patch such glitches in Destiny 2 as soon as possible in the past, where it has often brought the game down for maintenance, but not doing the same to fix a bug of this magnitude has left several players surprised.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
