It's a big week for Destiny 2 players as Bungie has been dropping tons of new information on the future of the game. While players will be getting a major reveal in just a few days at the Destiny 2 showcase, the anticipated Arc 3.0 subclass rework was revealed earlier than many fans expected.New statuses like ampl;ified and debuffs such as jolted and blind were discussed, as well as reworked supers, such as the Hunters new Gathering Storm ability.

While players will no doubt see Arc 3.0 and all of its mobility enhancing upgrades at the Showcase on August 23, Bungie followed that reveal up with even more season 18 details. Specifically, important dates players will likely want to remember including launch dates for Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, and Grandmaster Nightfalls. The upcoming Destiny 2 raid will be available on August 26, while the Halloween inspired Festival of the Lost returns on October 18 for a few weeks.

In addition to important dates, Bungie also outlined its plans for the mods players will unlock through the Season 18 artifact. Arc and Machine Guns appear to be a big focus in Season 18, and Bungie Senior Designer Andrew Veen also revealed the return of the much requested Anti-Barrier Sniper mod. Broken down by the unlocked rows, here are what Destiny 2 players will find when Season 18 kicks off next week.

First Row (Unlocked by Default):

  • Overload Bows (Arms)
  • Unstoppable Pulse Rifle (Arms)
  • Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle (Arms)
  • Anti-Barrier Auto Rifles (Arms)
  • Unstoppable Shotguns (Arms)

Second Row (Unlocked after two Perk choices)

  • Bad Amplitude (Class) - Damaging a Champion with an Arc ability causes Jolt to the Champion enemy.

Fifth Row (Unlocked after 10 perk choices)

  • Thunderous Retort (Class) - Arc Supers do more damage when activated while in critical or while amplified.
  • Hype Train Conductor (Class) - Adds 2 seconds to amplified timer. Can stack.
  • Trace Evidence (Class) - Precision hits on Arc debuffed targets generates Ionic Traces.
  • Lightning Strikes Twice (Class)
  • Sundering Glare (Class)

With a focus on Machine Guns as well as various tweaks to certain weapon types, Season 18 could feature a more diverse meta for challenging content. One of the weapons which may see an uptick in usage is the exotic machine gun Thunderlord, which not only benefits from the Season 18 mods, but will now come with intrinsic anti-Overload rounds as well.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
