A new trailer for Sony's upcoming action film, Bullet Train, has been released by the studio. The film is directed by David Leitch, who has experience with directing action films that include Deadpool 2, Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, and Atomic Blonde.

Sony's upcoming action film is an adaptation of Kōtarō Isaka's novel, Maria Beetle. In Leitch's film, Bullock will play Maria Beetle, the overseer of Ladybug's (Pitt) mission. The latest trailer provides a new look at Sandra Bullock's character in the film and provides a fresh glimpse at some of the film's action sequences. It also includes several new details that might have better served Bullet Train if they had been kept absent from the trailer.

The new Bullet Train trailer gives a closer look at what the action film may have in store. Its comedic styling is immediate as Ladybug receives his job assignment from Maria Beetle, who gives him the name, Ladybug. He notes the irony of his name given the string of bad luck he has had on the job, with incidents including a bell boy, a wedding, and situations gone wrong in Johannesburg and Bolivia. Unlike its first trailer, Bullet Train's new trailer reveals Ladybug has run into some of these assassins before. After a glimpse of some new action sequences in the film, Bullet Train says, "the end of the line is just the beginning," and the events of the second trailer back it up.

Bullet Train's new trailer provides a closer look at some of the other assassins on board the train. The new trailer reveals that Ladybug had previously crossed paths with Wolf (Bad Bunny) at a wedding. Wolf has a vendetta against Ladybug, and in the trailer, he promises to never stop coming after Ladybug. Bullet Train also shows that Ladybug has met both Tangerine (Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry) in the field before in Bolivia. The comedic tones of the film shine through here once again, as Ladybug and Maria Beetle debate on whether or not Tangerine and Lemon are twins.

Bullet Train's newest trailer suggests some of the assassins will band together to find a way off this train alive. Prince (King) warns them that they may not know the entire story. A large criminal ring hangs above their heads, making their mission increasingly dangerous. It appears all the assassins have been given a task that is in some way connected to the briefcase Ladybug has been sent to retrieve, and there is a suggestion that these trained killers have been set up with another outcome in mind.

The new trailer emphasizes Ladybug's difficulty in getting off the train, which is an element Bullet Train's first preview did not show. While the new insight is exciting to have heading into the film, the trailer may have revealed too much. The twist that Ladybug and the other assassins may be in danger and need to get off of the train certainly seems like a revelation that should surprise its viewers, as should the history Ladybug has with these assassins. This could have been an exciting discovery for viewers to make, but perhaps Bullet Train still has some surprises up its sleeve.

Bullet Train will release in theaters on August 5, 2022.
