  • Bronny James, son of NBA legend LeBron James, collapsed during basketball practice and was hospitalized after suffering cardiac arrest.
  • He is in stable condition, and further updates are awaited.

Following a routine basketball practice session, FaZe Clan member and University of Southern California (USC) basketball player LeBron "Bronny" James Jr. collapsed on the court and was hospitalized. Following his stay at a Los Angeles hospital, FaZe Clan expressed its wishes for Bronny James' speedy recovery on behalf of the entire eSports organization.

As the son of NBA legend and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, Bronny James shares more than his father's name. Standing at 6ft 3in tall, the younger James is six inches shorter than his father. But, he is considered a rising star at both point guard and shooting guard. This fall, James is expected to start at either of those positions for the USC Trojans men's basketball team. However, following this recent health scare, both the USC coaching staff and FaZe Clan will have to keep an eye on James' condition.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania on Twitter, James suffered an episode of cardiac arrest on Monday, July 24, and collapsed on the court of USC's Galen Center. James was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Following a brief stay in the ICU, James was listed in stable condition, but no further word has been released at the time of writing. Both LeBron and Savannah James expressed their thanks to the USC medical and athletic training staff and asked for privacy until there is more news to share about Bronny James' condition. James signed with FaZe Clan in 2020. James was still in high school at the time he signed with the famed eSports organization.

Following the news of James' collapse, fans and fellow athletes took to social media to send well-wishes to Bronny James. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered from a cardiac arrest episode in the 2022 NFL season, expressed his support on social media for Bronny James and his family. Despite his collapse, Hamlin was cleared in late April to return to playing in the NFL. He remains under a four-year rookie contract with the Bills through the 2024 NFL season.
