Slated to hit PC and Xbox Series X later this year, Bright Memory: Infinite is shaping up to be a fast-paced new shooter that meshes striking science-fiction landscapes, intense sword battles, and giant monsters. All three are on show in the game's latest trailer, which made its way to publisher Playism's YouTube channel earlier today.

Titled "Charging Night," the new preview of the game provides a closer look at its striking visuals and action-packed gameplay. It also reaffirms that PC players who bought its predecessor, Bright Memory, will get Bright Memory: Infinite for no additional cost.

The trailer itself opens on some stealth gameplay, showing Infinite's protagonist Shelia using a cleaver and a katana to dispatch several opponents without being seen. Before long, she encounters a threat that can't be so easily thwarted, as a giant monster with a large hammer emerges from the ground. It's the same creature fans saw through last month's Bright Memory: Infinite gameplay trailer, although this time they get a different perspective of Sheila's battle with the beast.

There's a glimpse at an all-new boss fight too, with players going head to head with an agile enemy that can dart around the battlefield at insane speeds. It seems players will have to combine their shooting and melee abilities to finish off the foe, with the trailer showing the protagonist stun them with well-timed katana blocks, light them up with bullets, and leap into the air to execute a brutal electric melee strike. It seems they'll have a range of moves to keep enemies at bay, whether that's through their melee weapons or firearms.

For those not caught up on the game, it takes place in the not-so-distant future of 2036, following an agent of the Supernatural Science Research Organization that's tasked with investigating strange weather patterns around the world. However, this mystery is much deeper than the agency initially believes, soon descending into a battle between two worlds. The first entry in the series made its way into early access a few years ago, with Bright Memory: Episode 1 hitting PC in January 2019. While the one-person development team behind the game, FYQD-Studio, initially intended to work on a second episode, it instead decided to remake and expand the first episode into a full-length release. Bright Memory: Infinite was then kept under wraps for a while before being shown off at an Inside Xbox event last May.

Fans have seen a lot of the game since that debut, including new trailers, plenty of Bright Memory screenshots, and more. Bright Memory is available now for players who want a taste of FYQD's world before Infinite launches in the coming months.

Bright Memory: Infinite is slated to launch on PC and Xbox Series X later this year.
