Academy Award-winning actress and vocal Nintendo fan Brie Larson has revealed her mains for both Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. The Marvel Cinematic Universe star has not only talked about her love for franchises like Animal Crossing in the past, but she has also appeared in various Nintendo Switch commercials.

Larson has shared with fans that Animal Crossing has even inspired some of her hobbies, such as gardening and cooking. Additionally, the Captain Marvel star has praised a wide range of Nintendo games, from Super Mario 3D World to one of her all-time favorites, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Brie Larson has even campaigned to play Samus in a potential Metroid film.

Larson revealed that her Super Smash Bros. main is none other than Zero Suit Samus – which should come as no surprise considering the actress' desire to play the character on screen. That said, she also likes to play as Kirby and Pikachu. For the Mario Kart series, however, Larson's main man is Luigi.

Brie Larson Reveals Nintendo Game She's Excited About

Larson did state that she is excited about one upcoming Nintendo title in particular, Princess Peach: Showtime! Not only is she ready for one of Nintendo's biggest games of early 2024, but Larson is also hoping that Showtime spawns a whole new series for the princess. The Oscar-winner added that she's "really just rooting for Peach," as Larson has watched the princess her "entire life."

Larson also discussed a wide range of relevant topics, such as her favorite game of all time. Like many other gamers, Larson is fond of Breath of the Wild. That said, the actress does think it's possible that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom might supplant it by the time she's rolled credits. However, Larson is still taking her time with one of 2023's best video games, savoring an experience she is still very much enjoying.

Following a rumored delay for the Switch's successor, Nintendo might be facing a tough year. With analysts and insiders predicting a release sometime during the early portion of 2025, games like Princess Peach: Showtime! seemingly now have to do some heavier lifting. Of course, this is all still well within the realm of rumors, reports, and speculation, but a year anchored by new hardware simply changes expectations. So far, previews for Princess Peach: Showtime! have been mostly positive, praising the title as a simple yet creative gaming experience.
